Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

We as a family use this costa on a regular basis, the service can at time's be a bit slow with staff members being quite unfriendly and showing no genuine interest in their customers and would rather carry on conversations with other staff members using their head set's even while serving customers which I find to be very rude. On a recent visit I was horrified to witness a customer approach the serving counter with a large dog who actually got up and placed it's two large feet on the counter where a staff member served it with what I think was an ice cream which to me was most unhygienic. I personally feel that animals should not be allowed to be near the food or serving area due to the threat of hair and dander coming off them, I personally have allergies which are triggered by dust and dander coming from dogs, cat's and most animals so this has been a real turn off for me and us as a family. I visited this afternoon with my two young daughters and was served by Tara. She was very friendly with my girls & checked the temperature of their drinks with me before serving them (5&10) She was very patient with me taking my order (i had a migraine so was a bit ditzy & fumbled through my order) she was lovely and friendly, and even asked if I’d like a glass of water with ice (I appreciate small gestures like that)

Used to love the place, but gone wrong fast. Caramel syrup just doesn't cut it anymore, think they've changed supplier. The lattes aren't creamy and taste like they are made with water and not milk. Regularly get coffee with burnt beans. Over priced and go elsewhere. There's better about. On the flip, the food is great. Sandwiches, breakfast baps, muffins, all great.
