Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

Absolute DISGRACE of a visit to Costa Cramlington today. The last 3 times I’ve been; the manager has been extremely rude. For someone who works in customer service I struggle to see how he passed the interview never mind was given a managers job. You’d think he was running a concentration camp not a coffee shop. He orders you around with such an aggressive nature but I’ve bit my tongue because I’m partial to a honeycomb latte but today was the final straw. He marches over to an elderly man who was sat alone drinking his tea and told him to hurry up as people wanted his table. Now for starters, as a NORMAL human being with manners this is extremely rude and unprofessional, not to mention this man has paid for a drink like the rest of us and was sat enjoying it. The man looked upset and saddened and said he would and quickly drank his tea, he then struggled to his feet and walked out with his two walking sticks. This could of been the only time this gentleman got out the house. For a quiet cup of tea. We were stunned aswell as another 3 tables of people who said they couldn’t believe what had happened and said they’d not return. We proceeded to complain to another member of staff but were told he was the manager and it was his discretion to do that. We sat for another 20 minutes and no one came to sit on the table that old man had been asked to leave. Service is the worst I have ever experienced in my first visit I thought they must be understaffed but I tryed again a few weeks later and still the same! Waited in the q for over 15 min and the q was not that big the service was just so slow they haven’t a clue how to multi task, I worked in a coffee shop years ago and we were 4x as busy with only 1 or 2 serving and I could seriously wipe the floor with the staff here! I was there a good hr or more as having a meeting and I never once saw a member of staff clean or clear a table it was terrible service I will never step foot in any of there premises again! I drive up and down the county having meetings and I have never come across a lge company who’s coffee shop is so shabbily run how they manage to stay open is beyond me but then again it was the only coffee shop...

we have been here several times a.nd each time we say we won't return but today was really not good. The place is filthy with dirty walls tables and floor. The coffee was lukewarm. I did take it back and it was replaced with another lukewarm coffee. I told the assistant that I thought there must be some thing wrong with the machine but she said no but did I want some hot milk in my coffee to warm it up. I explained it would not be a black coffee then. She asked if I wanted a different drink but as I don't drink milk and the machine was obviously not heating the water properly I said no.
