We've just returned from a very pleasant couple of nights at the lovely Crown Inn in Coniston. The hotel was absolutely perfect for our needs - situated right in the centre of the town and with it's own large private car park adjacent. Our room was very clean and, and plenty big enough for what we needed, - well furnished with a comfy bed, tea and coffee making facilities, and everything else you could need. Although the window was quite small, which did make the room a bit dark, it does give beautiful views of the mountains behind. The large en-suite bathroom included a bath and shower, and was again spotlessly clean and well laid out. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it, and we also ate at the hotel both nights too - evening menu is a bit limited, but again the food was lovely and enough variety if you're only there a couple of nights. There's a one way system through the restaurant for social distancing, and we were pleased to see plenty of hand sanitizers around near the doors and touch points - whether people use them or not is a different matter, but at least the hotel is doing what it can to keep people safe. Overall its a lovely hotel, perfectly situated with great food, friendly staff, and made for a very enjoyable couple of days. Definitely recommended. Thanks for the wonderful stay.

Great place to go and eat, we didn’t stay as we were camping but the food was really good. Iv got to say the guys serving ( there were about 4 fellas ) were so so nice polite and a real joy to chat too I’m between ordering and receiving our order, a totally different experience than I would expect from let’s say someone from the uk to serve, and a real breath of fresh air, lovely guys 👍🏻 Only bad point which is a shame but expected I guess! The cost was rediculous tbh, I get everyone’s recovering from covid and has to make ends meet, and it’s a tourist seasonal thing BUT : 3 drinks, 3 main meals and 1 small starter, £70 is probably £20-30 more than I would expect to pay for basic food ( chicken burger fries sorts of food etc ) Other than that great experience . Thank you crown inn.👍🏻

We stayed for a single night. We are a family of 5, myself, my wife, and our 3 boys. The rooms were very nice and clean. The only drawback was a lack of a medium sized fan. That night was hot and only a tiny fan was provided in one room of our two rooms. The bed was so comfy and the bathroom is good and well equipped. In the morning, we had an amazing breakfast, which was included in our room rate. They will allocate a dedicated table for your group. We have order a veggie breakfast, granola, and a french toast. All of them we so tasty and delicious. The lake was nice and within a walking distance, and a nice creek on the way. They have a kayak service station available in the lake. We had a great time and we would definitely stay again in the future.

My wife and I have just returned from a three night break at this lovely inn, from the minute we arrived up until our departure this morning, we honestly couldn't fault a thing.|The Crown is ideally situated in the middle of the village and has a large free car park, our room was at the rear of the building and had a super king size bed and mountain views. We were located directly above the kitchen and a fan was a thoughtful addition as it was explained to us that the room could get very warm. We didn't experience any issues with excess heat or noise from downstairs during our stay.|Our room was well appointed and very comfortable, great hospitality tray and a good size fridge containing a flask of milk and large bottle of water - these were replaced daily which was a nice thought. Plenty of tea and coffee and a Nespresso machine for that added touch of indulgence......|Meals were, without exception excellent - good choice at breakfast and bar snacks served until 5pm. We dined each night in the inn and really enjoyed our meals - special mention to the fish and chips which has to be some of the best we've ever had.|None of this would count for much if the staff and service were found wanting - we were so impressed with EVERY member of the team who worked so hard to make our stay special, all of the staff we engaged with were very friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble so a huge thank you to everyone.|My wife and I have been visiting and staying in this lovely village for 36 years and I think we can say with confidence we have found our new base, or should say "home from home".....|Can't...

Stopped over 14/05/22 for weekend away with husband. Disappointed in the evening meal opted for the pie hoping this would be homemade and it was like a pie shop one, when paying £15 for a pie we would have expected homemade. Asked for a drink at 10.45 and not served eventhough bar closed at 11pm. This was due to refusing a group of cyclists so maybe to make a point to them. Funny though as looked like some locals/friends had been served. Again disappointed as a resident of the hotel. We like dogs and I understand the pub/Hotel is dog friendly but it was annoying to find dogs still barking at 10.30 pm when trying to relax and have a drink, felt sorry for any residents trying to sleep. Surprised staff didn't mention this to the people having a drink due to the time. Went up to room to have a dog barking all night in the room next door. Noisy rooms and very thin walls so you can hear everything. Comfortable bed and nice sized room. Paid £161 for our room and needed some TLC with tatty carpets and old furniture with handles missing and some of the towels looked dirty.

Breakfast next morning was lovely and well cooked, lots to pick from and best part of the stay. Friendly staff and quickly served. Again Disappointed to find numerous dogs in the Breakfast room again barking.

Great to see that parking was free and great location, friendly staff but overall wouldn't return in a hurry. Would recommend for dog...
