We went to curry spice in January. It's was very quiet inside. A guy at reception greeted us, took us to the corner table. We had chicken Tikka bhuna, Lamb Tikka Karahi, chicken kurma, 2 bombay potatoes, 2 pilau rice, and Naan, my little one wanted chicken nuggets with chips. Cleaning was alright. I would say customer service was good. Food was below the average. They have their own ideas about chicken nuggets. We have never seen such thing in our life lol. Prices were not too bad. Parking spaces available around the street or in front of it.

Food was absolutely gorgeous, so much and so tasty. Service was excellent as well. Couldn't fault a thing. Can't wait to go back.

After reading all the reviews we didnt really know what to expect. So being the only Indian anywhere near where we were staying we gave it a try. We ordered a Veg Biryani, and two dansaks. When we went to collect our order we were told that it had been given to another customer by mistake and that they were re making the order! So we sat down to wait. A drink on the house may have been a nice gesture, but no. After about 5 minutes a chap came in returning his wrong order, which was ours. Oh well things happen. Now to the food. When ordering we thought the rice was expensive, so just ordered plain rice. Well the portion was tiny for the price. Now to the Dansak, which should be a thick lentil dish. There must be a shortage of lentils in Cumbria, because there didn't seem to be any!. It tasted more like a Ceylon, but was tasty enough. In summary it did a job, but will be a once only. Oh they gave us free poppadoms as a gesture. Two for three meals. Also it was very expensive for the quality. Also followed by not feeling...

Frankly, I would not even rate this one star because this place was that bad. The customer service was so trash and the people taking the order were so rude. When I ordered a few naan they refused to take my order, moreover, when I wanted to know this size of a naan they said they couldn’t and told me to get out. I was very angry because i was visiting from a faraway place for a holiday and didn’t expect this of a so called fully licensed takeaway and they also had the audacity to ask for a tip too. Please save your energy and don’t go there!!! I wouldn’t recommend this at all whatsoever. Very disappointed and a total waste of time. I have been to other Indian takeaways and this is the worst one I...

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I ordered the Lamb Vindaloo, which tasted overwhelmingly of chillies and tomato ketchup. The naans were dry and flavourless, and the lamb kebab was bizarrely off.. like something closer to a dog treat than food.

Between five of us, we had:

1.5 beers each

One starter each

One main each

Shared two naans and some rice

The total bill came to £160. That’s the kind of price I’d expect to pay at a good restaurant, not for food this poor. Honestly, even £50 would have felt like too much.

I don’t know how this place is still in business. Wouldn’t recommend...
