Deva Bistro&Meathouse — Restaurant in England

Went with 3 friends for birthday meal. This was our first visit. The restaurant used to be a pub and I suppose it still has that kind of feel in a way. Decor was nice enough but could be bit more polished ( toilets definitely need to be done up better and painted ) However back to the food . Service was quick and staff lovely. As you would expect mainly steaks on menu but also choice of chicken and fish dishes. The food was lovely and it was hot. I think bit misleading as menu states meals come with “ creamy potatoes “ which we presumed would be mashed potatoes but it was a few halves of new potatoes in a creamy sauce. They were nice but you dont get many and also I think you should get basic vegetables in the price of main meal. It was a nice touch to give free appetiser which was small warm slices of bread accompanied by a lovely garlic coleslaw. We would go again if the above things...

Wow! What an amazing evening we had at Deva. We have been meaning to go for a while and finally managed a visit last night and we were not disappointed! The service was fantastic and staff were attentive and friendly but not over baring. The decor was lovely and you get a sense of been transported somewhere else, you certainly don't feel like you are on Liverpool road that's for sure.

Then on to the food well, we think amazing is an understatement! The meat was flavoursome and such high quality it was cooked to perfection and portion sizes were ample. The menu was so varied and there was something for everyone including children. The prices were also varied and it seemed to cater for different budgets.

Horrendous half of the group meals took 1 hour and half to come out, which meant half of the group was sat waiting. one of the only two draught beers was out at midday on a weekend. You would ask for sauces and they bring them out after ten minutes by which time you’ve asked about 10 times and been given about 10 sauces but by that point you’d already eaten your meal, so they just went to waste. Most of the staff were very slow waiting the table for everything. Whilst we was here the decided to drill into the wall in-front of us whilst we were seated it maybe newly opened but if you need to drill into walls in front of customers, then it shouldn’t be. If you come here I’d ask for a kids meal because it’s the same size and basically the same thing as an adults meal at about half the price. One of the worst restaurants...
