HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
Dined here with my family (9 of us) last night. We took my two young kids with us. On the way in, the kids noticed the pantry with all the cakes. Not long after we sat down, they asked to see the cakes, so my husband took them. They saw how the pizzas were being made and was fascinated by it and the lovely young chef, gave my boy a salami. They came back to their seats but, my younger son wanted to see the cakes again. My husband took them, HOLDING THEIR HANDS, SO THEY WOULDN’T GET IN THE WAY of anyone. Then, the awful, head chef (old man) shouted for them to sit down. My husband said that the boys were just exploring and wanted to see the cakes. The old man proceeded to shout that if they don’t know how to sit at a restaurant, we shouldn’t take them out. At this point, I asked for the owner and told him that we wanted to leave because we weren’t welcome there. He didn’t say anything and just walked off. A lady, then came over and said that she was the owner and explained that they cannot have kids walking around at the restaurant because the kitchen was just right there and there are hot oils etc. I said that I completely understood, but the way the chef shouted at them was not acceptable. She then told me to ignore him because he has no tolerance for children. At no point did I hear the word SORRY. She just kept telling me to ignore what was said. We had family over from Manchester to celebrate my cousin’s new job and if we had food at home, we would have left. I really wish we did, because they did not deserve our custom.
While I understand their health and safety concerns, they shouldn’t have the kitchen so close to where people are eating. When I called up to reserve a table, I specified that there would be children with us. If their head chef has a problem with children, then they shouldn’t accept bookings with children. The reviews I’ve seen in the past about the head chef is completely true. We will never come back to this restaurant as it is no excuse to treat people poorly when they are...
Read moreWe went for a birthday meal here with.our friends ( they go here regularly and know the waiter well) meal was delicious and the waiter was good as was our young waitress, however we were let VERY disappointed and pretty annoyed with the lady owner. We had taken a small birthday cake along earlier in the day ,after the meal myself and the birthday girl used the bathroom and boys went for a smoke, when we came back to the table we were told they got the cake ready but " as we'd left they'd put it away and if we wanted we had to sort it ourselves ( which we did,) we sung happy birthday and then asked a young waitress if we could have some napkins and a knife, she went to ask the owner and came but looking very embarrassed and told us the owner said NO we can't have them, what a miserable woman,I've never heard anything like it before ,hence we left and took the cake with us. WE WILL NOT be recommending this...
Read moreThe food at Eatalia is usually very good. However, on a recent visit I ordered from the specials board. Cod fillet with asparagus. What I got was fish and chips. When I queried it the waitress plonked down a plate with three bits of broccoli and said we’ve got no asparagus! I was speechless 🤷🏻♀️ I am not a lover of fish and chips at the best of times and especially not at £18.95! Luckily my lovely husband swapped his pasta with me and it was delicious. Lesson learnt, check what you are actually going to get from the specials board. I never dreamt that cod fillet and asparagus was going to be fish and chips! For this reason my rating has been reduced. It would...
