Since Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in England

My wife and I visited Since restaurant today for lunch, and unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations.

Despite emailing in advance to request an allergen menu, we did not receive a response nor were we offered one upon arrival. This lack of consideration for dietary requirements was disappointing and concerning, especially given the potential risks associated with food allergies.

On a positive note, the staff member who greeted us was friendly, and the restaurant was clean and well-presented. However, our server lacked knowledge about allergens, providing incorrect information about gluten-containing ingredients. This oversight could have had serious consequences for someone with allergies.

The seabass dish we ordered was underwhelming, lacking flavor and with soggy skin. Additionally, we found a piece of blue roll inside one of our starters, which was a disappointing oversight. Although the manager offered a replacement, we declined as it was towards the end of our meal.

Furthermore, there was a lack of check-backs during our meal, and we had to flag down a staff member for the bill, which prolonged our dining experience unnecessarily.

Overall, our experience at Since restaurant was disappointing. With improvements in allergen training, attention to detail, and customer service, Since has the potential to provide a more enjoyable...

Usually our 1st go-to place for a lunch, but won't bother again. Lunch menu options changed, no lite bites such as chicken shish wraps not available. Only offer a 2 course lunch for 17.50 which seemed OK. On this occasion I was not that hungry, although husband has good appetite so ordered the 2 courses for him and I asked for just a main ( beef burger & chips) along with drinks. Smaller portions than main evening menu, but good food nonetheless less. However, our bill showed 2 X2 course lunches being charged. On querying this with the rather officious manager who stated the lunch price is set regardless whether you have 1 or 2 courses, meaning a small beef burger and about 10 chips cost 17.50 +VAT. Unfortunately the owner, who we know quite well wasn't on the premises that day but won't be lunching there again anytime soon. Shame to be...

Really nice restaurant with an interesting menu. The Salmon Shish was enormous, we just couldn't eat all of it but it was beautiful. Service was good, but,being picky, one of my friend's had to ask for a fork and we had to remind the server that we had ordered another bottle of wine. Since is very popular and was very busy on the Friday night we visited. So it would be wise to book. The seating is varied and well spaced so you are not sitting on top of other diners. My only real criticism is that the bench seats that are attached to the walls are a bit too low for the table. This meant that it was a little uncomfortable when eating.......I'm going to take a cushion with me next...
