Eliane of Sunningdale — Restaurant in England

On a Sunday afternoon we popped in to have tea and cake. There were lots of people there eating. Before we said anything we were told that they are closing soon/ are closed. I said that we had checked online but I was told that I must have looked for Saturday where they are open longer. We left and I checked online again- I was right ! Back we go and even on the door is a sign that states that they are still open for another hour. We point out both opening times online and on the door sign. Staff then say something like “oh yes but the kitchen is closed for hot food.” We never said we wanted hot food- just a cuppa and a piece of cake. Overall, not very welcoming ! I was heavily pregnant with a hungry toddler in tow so this experience was not good. Looked like the staff didn’t want more washing up before closing . Very awkward situation especially as all other customers watch and listen too! Won’t come back- luckily there are three more lovely cafes...

I asked for an Oat latte and as soon as I asked for it I knew what was coming, the person boiled the milk and coffee was bitter.

After walking with my oat latte towards the train station I burnt my tongue and mouth…

Please this is a message to everyone who opens a coffee shop, if you want to open and have a good coffee, please learn the basics of frothing milk and coffee in general.
