Not a Great Lunch.. Ordered my first dish in Italian... Zero response... Ordered in English and eventually received food... No concerns as to how my dish was... No conversation... I was a lone dinner.... No sign of anyone native to Italy plenty of foreign staff..... But I'd of thought Turkish and Indian chaps might not have an insight into Italian fare... They did however manage plenty of time for the two young ladies sitting at the bar drinking cocktails.... I was left completely alone... In this time of hard to find costomers... Is this what we now can expect... Food was very decent in its defence... But as a former publican... I always understood, a new costomer or costumers should be treated as new guests..... That may become regulars... I'd always ask about their day, how the were enjoying the experience and induce them to try out different wares from my menu...
My experience didn't have any of those Regards....... My experience was as flat as a pancake....
Will I be rushing back to Fabio's.... I Guess not..... I'm also a tour guide for Europe these days... Often in solubrious Restaurants... All over Europe.... I'm putting together at present a full Restaurant guide for North East city's and Towns villages and hamlets.... I'll probably return to Fabio's for an evening meal next week.... Just to see if it was a one off, and the evening is much better... Fingers crossed...

We arrived a few minutes later to join them. Table was only set as 5 places and not 6. We asked for menus after 10 minutes of waiting, drinks order was taken after 20 minutes and they came after 30 minutes. Food order was taken at this time which took a further 25 minutes to come so all in waited 55 minutes for our food. I realise that we arrived at 6 pm which is at the very end of the special menu (3 courses for ££5.95) but really should not have waited as long as we did. Waitress apologised which was very good of her to do. Food was okay, not out of this world but okay apart from, and this may just be a Fabios thing but my Calzone was served with Tomato and Basil Soup to pour on rather than a pizza topping based sauce, odd but I still ate it all. Risotto was good, portions a good size. Will I go back? Well it wasn't bad enough for me not to go back (unlike Frank and Bennys) but not my first choice for...
Read moreNew Years Eve party was the worst we've ever been to. Advertised a female singer for 9.30 and disco so we thought it would be a party atmosphere. How wrong were we. It cost £15 for a ticket which was a cheap price for NYE however there was no effort put in to make it where people wanted to stay and enjoy a drink and dance. The singer was OK but not for a NYE party. Maybe for no more than an hour then disco but this didn't happen. Many people left early including us. We left at 11 and no-one had got up to dance during the time we were there. What a let down. We also went in a couple of weeks ago for my birthday and food has gone down hill since opened. I had steak and the asparagus on top of steak was drooping and dripping in oil. Bottle of wine (prosecco) was nearly £30 with meal. Fabio's you need to do something or you'll lose all your custom especially when there's a cheap Wheatherspoons right next door. You have to speculate to accumulate. We feel that NYE at Fabio's was a total waste. We used to love going there but we'll not...
