Fan Fan Pizza — Restaurant in England

Finally visited FanFan tonight after wanting to for a while. As we walked in the chef noticed my 8 month pregnant girlfriends bump and asked us if the pizza was for her, we said it yes it was, at which point her informed us that the pizza cheese was unpasteurised and that it wasn't safe for her to eat, he offered to make her a new pizza with a substitute cheese that was pasteurised and safe, he also said that the second pizza we had originally ordered was ours and on the house too. Have to say myself and the 2 people I visited the restaurant with were pretty disappointed. The tomato sauce on the pizzas had no seasoning whatsoever. It was incredibly bland. I’m sorry but I don’t understand how you can get this key element so wrong. The restaurant looks great and the atmosphere was buzzy. The service was poor but i’m willing to put that down to teething problems. We didn’t think the quality of the other toppings were particularly good either, especially the pepperoni. I’d love to give this place another go as we were really excited to see it open on the high street and would love for it to succeed, but with the quality of pizza you can get elsewhere these days I’m just not sure...

I was meeting my old work colleagues, and seeing as we used to work a few doors down from this place, it seemed like a good idea. What a cool set up, we all had garlic bread starters,nice and strong in flavour. I had a Margarita Pizza with the Bufula mozzarella cheese. I cannot remember the lager I had but it was very nice, the staff had a casual attire which matched the attitude of this establishment. Cool and relaxed, the music was rather eclectic.
