Greenhalgh's Craft Bakery Ltd — Restaurant in England

This is the third time in this shop over last few months and the other two visits were not a good experience with the staff. Today's visit was the worst by far. I ordered a sandwich which was at the far end of counter. The server (an older lady) was very unwelcoming and took sandwich to the other end of counter where the till was but it blocked by a delightful lady with her baby in a pram. The po faced server never moved to me and just waited at the till. So unhelpful and rude. Then when the lady with pram moved I got to the till and asked for a paper bag. I was carrying two post office parcels and she reluctantly got a paper bag and placed it next to my sandwich even though it was obvious I could not put the sandwich in the bag. It was extremely rude and then a tall older server with a tan looked at me very disrespectfully as I had to put my parcels on the counter to place sandwich in their paper bag. Game changer! My father ordered a birthday cake for my mother's birthday and this cake blew us away. I collected the cake on Thursday last week and had to bring my toddler with me. The lady who served me couldn't have been more helpful - the cake was heavy, so she offered to carry it to my car over the road so that I didn't need to leave him in there and come back. She was so lovely and helpful and I was so grateful, thank you again. The cake itself was beautiful and considering we didn't cut into it until the Sunday when the party was, it was incredibly moist. It tasted so good and the writing was really clear to read. We ended up putting some cleaned artificial flowers around the edge and some candles on which just helped to give the cake a little pop. The cake was 12" plain sponge with jam and buttercream and has easily served 40 pieces. We would definitely use Greenhalghs' again in the future for...

Very rude staff. The manager was very blunt. Wanted to exchange 2 packs of barms, for the two we had ordered. She was being so awkward about it. Remember "The customer is always right". It's not a crime just to change your mind . Rang head office to make a complaint about the managers bad attitude. Was promised a gesture of goodwill voucher to spend at the shop. So far, nothing has arrived. Really poor customer respect.There is a pandemic going around, more important things in life, than a manager with a rotten attitude, making life so difficult for a customer over DARING to ask to swap the 2 packets of barms ordered over the telephone, for 2 packets of different baps that were in the shop on display.
