Failed to find any food, yet again! Probably not the fault of the local management, but head office need to smell the coffee. Solstice Park is a busy and popular stop on the A303. Cars queue to enter and find a parking space outside the McDonalds & Costa. The car park outside KFC is full. There are no cars in the parking area outside Greggs because it closes at ridiculously early, but long before it closes there's nothing left on the shelf. The middle of the day service may be good (by some reviews), but for those of us driving after work it has been nothing but a disappointment. You have the additional magnet of a Gridserve EV charging hub outside, with Greggs being the nearest eatery. The perfect place to take advantage of footfall of people wanting something to while-away 15-30 minutes. Many customers will be after a snack, or dinner on their journey. It might just be a cup of coffee while they wait for an EV charge. McD are open 24hrs. KFC seem to be open whenever I drive through (7-10pm). Costa are open for longer than Greggs! Costa used to be my favourite stop in Solstice, but they cut the hours during covid and I tired of discovering them closed too early.... still McD and KFC and Taco Bell all seem to have stepped up to the plate for late food.
In the past decade of many Solstice stops between London and Devon, I've never known McD or KFC to be out of fundamental stock, but my 3-4 attempts at using Greggs have been one success at a baguette, one disappointment where there was only one filling option left and several closed because it was "too late" for Greggs to be open.
Come on Greggs head-office management, customers are walking by your closed restaurant and empty shelves. They park or walk to the companies which have recognised a demand and know how to keep adequate stock to meet demand.
Come on Greggs, smell the coffee, it will have to be some one else's...
Read moreSomehow you ran out of sausage rolls even though it was not busy at all and barely anyone in the car park (probably staff cars) and was told I have to wait 18 minutes to get a sausage roll so Instead, I ordered a cheese and bean melt which came out stone cold. After I asked for a hot one I was told that it’s how they come (apparently greggs serves hot food that has to come out cold instead now) I also had to wait in a waiting bay for 1 chicken wrap which was also cold when I received it… also don’t forget the hot chocolate which tasted pretty much like brown water with no chocolate in it… I wouldn’t advise going to this greggs at all. Food wasn’t delivered to standard and clearly wasn’t held at correct temperatures when it was...
Read moreVery disappointing visit. This was the second day of going there and both days very little available. When this opened we were confidently told by the staff that the food would always be hot, the food we bought was cold, the indoor seating area was closed off. The toilets were dirty and no toilet paper. Staff were socialising outside when we arrived, when being served we found the staff to be very abrupt and unhelpful, it felt like it was being run for the benefit of the staff not the customer. This is such a shame we had high hopes when this opened as we frequently travel this route. We won’t...
