A Cold Case of Breakfast Sabotage
Ordered breakfast from Greggs via Uber Eats for the first time.
Let’s start with the positives: the delivery was spot-on.
The driver was polite, professional, and somehow managed to find our house — which is named, not numbered, so that alone qualifies him for sainthood. He did everything right.
And then came the food.
Stone. Cold.
I don’t mean “cooled down a bit on the way.” I mean frostier than a penguin’s handshake. Why? Because some genius in the packing department decided to put piping hot hash browns in the same bag as a bottle of orange juice that had clearly just escaped the fridge.
Not just in the same bag — practically spooning. The hash browns were so close to the juice they were almost emotionally dependent on it.
Which leads me to the question no sane person should have to ask: Were they trying to cool the food down… or heat the juice up?
A question so stupid, only someone involved in this decision-making process could answer it.
Either way, mission accomplished — everything was the same lukewarm sadness by the time it arrived. Like biting into disappointment with a side of regret.
This wasn’t the driver’s fault. The man is a hero. This is a system failure. Somewhere between the grill and the bag, someone made a choice. A wrong one. A breakfast-ruining one.
