Had a table booked at 6pm. Had to wait for 15 minutes to be seated. For the manger to give another lot of customers who were behind us a table for the same party amount. All fizzy drinks were flat, told the bar staff who didn't really care changed the drinks but they was still flat. Went up to get the carvery asked for a king size plates which were brought out just before we got to the serving stage, for them to say we have no more king size plates. My wife then said she had an allergy to orange ( wasn't asked at the table as she was trying to get another drink at the bar due to being flat). My wife asked what glaze was on the turkey to which the senior chef said it didn't have orange in and was willing to give it to my wife. The other chef there said that it does and said to the senior chef to go and check, but didn't bother. So the other chef went to check and came back to say it does have orange in . The senior chef who openly said he had worked for Toby Carvery for 16years didn't even know that what products he is using. Continued to use the same cutlery to cut the pork as the turkey which my wife originally had asked for before knowing about the orange.

My wife is seriously allergic to orange and this error could have quiet well possibly been a life threading situation if the other chef didn't check for us.

When my wife brought this to the managers attention after the meal. The manager got very defensive and did not apologise until my wife had said at what she thought was the end of the conversation that he hadn't even apologised. He then got extremely defensive and sarcastically apologised and said if there is anything else he can do to see him. This is so unprofessional and a poor experience.

As well as this one of our good friends was asked for a medical card as she had asked for a kids plate.

Then as we was paying we paid all on 1 card to make it easier. We wasn't showed the card machine and the amount so the person paying asked for a card receipt to which our friend was told the card machine had run out of paper. When the waitress returned she just printed another receipt which was no proof of the card payment. The manager comes over tries to resolve the issue goes off and prints of another receipt which again was not proof of card payment. The manager become once again very defensive and extremely confruntational.

The worst experience we have ever had in any restaurant. Most definitely will not be recommending to anyone coming to...

Variety of meats & veggies was good. One of the group had 2 long hairs in their brussel sprouts he has a shaved head so most definitely not his. This was so unpleasant for one of the group they left the rest of the food on their plate not trusting what would be on their plate. Later we were advised the vegan custard wasn’t available - I said I wouldn’t have any dessert no problem - I took it that the amount would be deducted from the bill. Having finished we went to the bar to pay for our meal - there was no one there or by the drinks refill area, after a couple minutes staff were located all having dinner together, not a problem if they are keeping an eye on the areas they are serving. Female comes to serve us, looked as if I’d interrupted her, found myself saying sorry to her - laughable really, she took my voucher told me amount I paid she asked if I wanted receipt I said yes. I was so taken aback by her lack of friendliness and customer service skills that I didn’t mention the hairs in the food or think to check the dessert had been removed from the bill. Once home I checked the bill and called the restaurant not because it was of any real value (£3.50) but because of the principle. I called and spoke to Lee who it transpired was one of the males who came to the table to tell us it wasn’t available, instead of apologising he said I did tell you to come up to the bar to sort it out, if he did I didn’t register it, but all the same again a massive lack of customer service, he told me he can’t refund it and said when you next come in we’ll sort it, how a business runs like this I don’t know, will staff believe me if I said oh last time I was charged for dessert but didn’t have it, I asked for his name at this point as cynical as I may be and however small the amount I doubt I’ll see that money again. As you may appreciate we won’t be hurrying back anytime soon either based on this experience. I look forward to hearing from someone with regard to our experience, and if possible a refund without requiring...

Waiter was lovely. But never in my life have I seen meat cut so thin. No exaggeration you could see through it. When we said to the chef about it. He got very rude and had a Hugh nasty attitude. We spent over 150 that eve but what a waste off money. Dirty tables dirty glasses. And to top it all we had a 10 month baby with us and was told you have to pay for a bowl off food for him. Now really ok so it was only a pound but not the point. The child had just a tea spoon off mash and 3 carrots. This is a 1st never been anywhere that makes you pay for a tiny amount off food. We had to wait ages for gravy to come out. This we don’t mind but when thee was no one waiting to be served then come on where was all the kitchen staff. Then desserts,. We waiting over 25 minutes again restaurant was not that busy. Our bill was not right over paid. But being as we waited so long to get the bill and then even longer to get to pay I just paid. Was so feed up. We booked for my husband’s birthday he lost both his parents sadly and this was his 1st ever birthday without them. So the meal was meant to celebrate but also remember. We picked this restaurant as the last time we was there a few months ago we was there with his parents. But due to everything it was a case off just a disaster. From the time we got there to the time we went. And to top it off we did asks for a quiet corner but was put in the middle with tables off others right next to us which again we had no room for wheelchair we had to keep disturbing other people’s tables trying to get in and out. When I made the booking I made this clear we needed a little extra room. We asked if we could move but told that was all they had. But for the full time we was there restaurant was not...

Partner and I just had two 2for1 side dishes.. asked for the bacon be removed form the mac and cheese and from one of the roast potatoes dish ..that was done okay. However both roast potatoes dishes came without gravey and half the potatoes were black rotten and should never have been served. The mushroom and cheese with topped cheddar came without the cheddar..generally very poor food quality and inconsiderate preparation. On complaining to the server, he went to inform his manager, who then returned with an offer a refund on one of the potatoes dishes ..as we had eaten some of the potatoes..2.99 .. however no apology was given by the manger for the poor quality.. it's not about the money .. basically not caring about what's served or if there is a problem with it. How this place has had any good reviews is beyond my understanding.

Visited during the week around 1:30 so it was very quiet in the bar. Just popped in for warm up as it was cold outside despite the beautiful sunshine! Noticed the Coffee and Cake offer it was disappointed that it was only being discounted from 2 pm! Despite my plea me offer of a cash deal, the staff would not give in to me (well done for sticking to company policies and not my bribery!). So settled for a coffee without cake.... Until it went past 2pm! We did also have a sandwich roll, that was very tasty in a lovely crusty bread (ordered a ciabatta bread but hey ho) with a portion of roast potatoes! Should have had the Yorkshire pudding and gravy and it would have been a meal for 2! Nice hot coffee and a glass of white wine was good too. Cheers guys.

Great location and pleasant efficient staff. A little smaller than some other Toby's and can get busy, best to book. Great value let's face it and good quality food. 3.5 slices of meat for the standard Sunday roast and HUGE fresh yorkies but could have a little more choice of veg as it's only carrots and peas. All in all a pleasant experience and we'll deffo return. Keep up the good work 👍.
