We popped in here for a coffee and a snack whilst waiting for a customer to arrive, and what a gem we have found!
We were greeted with a fantastic smile by a lovely lady, who took our order (1st time and correctly!) whilst making sure we were aware of all the options available, and even telling us we may need more sugar based on the sachet sizes.
She listened to us and made sure that we got less milk as we requested and also confirmed this back to us.
I had a choice of rolls for my sandwich, and as a Jewish bacon lover all I can say is wow!!
The bacon was perfectly cooked and there was a decent amount of it as well!
Coupled with a great cup of coffee (definitely not instant like some places), all my customers heard for the first ten minutes was me going on about how good it was!!
Our business is based on quality and service, and I believe that can be offered in any business, and I must say that the two ladies in this establishment have absolutely nailed it!
Parking isn’t great but it’s worth the walk from anywhere you can get a space, and I will certainly be going back for some more of that heavenly bacon, and also the...
Read moreI've been going to this cafe for a good few months now. The staff are lovely and they often give my dogs small treats. HOWEVER today was the last straw. I was charged £4.95 for two slices of over buttered toast and marmite. That is just ridiculous!! Utopia, Dog & Co, The Attic, Cafe In The Park are all significantly cheaper!! I could get toast, marmite & a cuppa in Shoreditch for a £5! So why am I paying double at 140?? It's not the first time I've been over-charged here (nearly £9 for a sausage & bacon roll...The Attic charge a lot less for a breakfast roll (bacon, sausge & egg & it's superb!), Similar at Dog & Co. Also my orders have been wrong a number of times, which I've just let slide, but no more! I appreciate this review will burn my bridges with 140, but I'm not being blatantly ripped off for something as simple as toast & marmite, particularly when I try to go there regularly to support them, plus I know other cafes are much better value! Disappointingly I'll be going elsewhere...
Read moreOur first visit to this amazing little seafront cafe was such a pleasant experience. I had the chicken, bacon and mayo sandwich and my partner had the prawn salad sandwich. The sandwiches were bursting with delicious filling, and came as a budget-friendly meal deal with crisps and a drink. With views of Southend sea front, my partner was happy watching ships go by while I chatted to the friendly staff. We couldn’t wait to return again and had the same meal. We also had a delicious, perfectly made coffee. A lovely lunch stop with delicious food and fast, friendly service. We’ll be...
