Hamptons Deli Cafe — Restaurant in England

Until recently I would happily have rated this establishment 5☆. On our last two visits things seem to have gone downhill. On todays visit (24th July 17) whilst my own meal was up to standard my wife had the gourmet burger which in her words was "dry and tasteless". On paying for the meal my wife mentioned this and whilst an apology was given there was no offer of a discount which in the circumstances would have gone some way to encourage repeat custom. Prior to this, some weeks ago I had a dessert which was on the turn and although it was immediately replaced it was dissappointing to see the dish still on display as we left. I met a friend for breakfast here on a Monday morning and we enjoyed the “Hamptons breakfast” from the menu, with really great coffee. Unfortunately our meal was let down by poor service where after 20 minutes of waiting for someone to take our food order (it wasn’t busy) we had to go up to the counter and try and order there only to be told she would come to our table, which meant waiting another few minutes. Also a smaller issue - we also had to go to the counter to ask for salt and pepper as none on any of the tables. Maybe they should be on the tables ahead of breakfast rather than all together on the counter? I would try here again in the hope of better service as the food and...

Lovely local cafe with a great atmosphere. There’s a good amount of choice on the menu and the food is really tasty. Our favourite is the chicken club bap - if going for lunch, I’d recommend this dish and ask for a spare plate, if you’re happy to share, as it’s quite a big meal. Delish! The staff are always friendly, and the owner is super kind and welcoming. He always talks to you like he remembers you when you visit, which makes a huge difference. Not the cheapest option on the high street, but well worth it for the food, the welcome and the nice ambiance. Can get a bit busy on a Saturday, so go early. Make sure to check this...
