We’ve been coming to Hobbs for a number of years to buy bread and the occasional treat. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and we love the Tetbury loaf, our usual. It’s so much nicer than supermarket bread!
During the CV lockdowns, we were super grateful for Hobbs, as we’d walk to it in the mornings to grab a coffee and a loaf, as well as some pastries, if we fancied a treat. It was also great to have the refillable milk station and the frozen pizza bases (when flour got a bit scarce, with everyone making stuff at home!).
Sometimes the sweet baked goods aren’t always amazing - the pastries can be a little chewy and occasionally, the cakes aren’t super flavourful. However, their doughnuts and brownies are absolutely amazing! We’ve even bought some of the brownies to have for dessert when people come over for dinner, they’re that good.

The pastry on the tarts was barely on the right side of burnt and the filling lacked the lovely caramelised flavour that the top usually has. Sorry to say they sell better in the Co-op. The driver of vehicle YH67 VEM would appear to either have no wingmirrors on the van, or simply not bother with them. Oh, and tailgating others with no care or consideration.
