The Harbour Inn in Porthleven is an absolute gem, offering stunning views right over the harbour. The decor strikes the perfect balance between classic pub charm and modern touches, making it feel both cozy and fresh. The layout is ideal—left side for a more refined dining experience, and the right side for a relaxed drink. There are also multiple TVs for watching sports and a pool table tucked away at the back for some casual fun. As for the food, it’s next level. My partner and I started with the padron peppers, chorizo bites, and salt and pepper squid—each dish beautifully presented and full of flavor. For mains, I had the fish and chips, which were perfect, while my partner raved about the beef burger. The food was so good, we couldn’t resist returning the next day for lunch. The pea and mint soup was a fresh, flavorful choice, paired perfectly with garlic bread, and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert was the cherry on top. The pub also boasts two beer gardens—one with a front-facing view of the harbour and a rear one for a more private setting. A big shout-out to Caitlin, who made our dining experience even better with her friendly and helpful service. By far, this has been our favorite pub in Cornwall, and we’re already planning our next visit! Highly recommend.

We have been to the Harbour Inn most evenings of this week and sat outside taking in the Harbour and sunny evenings, the seating area is expansive and the pop up bar outside as a great idea and also offers Pizza and Garlic Breads, all fantastic. Last night we treated ourselves to a meal inside the restaurant, ordered a main meal and busy chatting away didn't notice that there had been quite a long wait. The staff did notice though and were very apologetic and chased up the kitchen. Main meal of Fish and Chips and a Steak for the wife was well worth the wait, fantastic! The lovely staff then offered us the dessert for free as an apology for the delay for the main. Such a lovely venue, the food was very well prepared and tasty. All in all an excellent evening out and very much recommended.

Wow this pub has just reopened after a huge revamp. The heart has been put back into this vintage pub with it's fantastic position sitting right on the harbour at Porthleven. The bedrooms have all been redesigned and refitted to a truly first class standard. The menu is excellent and the food is divine. The re is a secluded enclosed beer garden to the rear of the premises or you can choose to dine or eat in the garden right on the harbour. Fantastic range of real ales and lagers from St Austell Brewery. Staff all have a spring in their step and a smile on there faces. Lovely. Well worth a visit and a stay. Cornish hospitality at its best and a price you can afford.

A twin room booked in May. Bad points: I know I didn't have a sea view from this room but I wasn't expecting a brick wall. Room 14 is VERY dark. Infact it's so dark that on a sunny day I couldn't even see the controls on the TV remote. The room with the twin beds is quite cramped but it does have a small living room. It's well equipped but also very dark. The only light room is the bathroom, ironically this is the only room with a sensor activated night light. It really needs at least one of these in each room for safety. Has a good coffee machine but for £150 per night I dont expect to struggle unplugging the kettle to plug the coffee machine in as there aren't enough wall outlets. The worst thing was the beds. They are sloping towards the headboard so much it was impossible to sleep and every night we had to sleep with the pilllows at the other end. The room ventilation is stuffy so I wouldn't want to sleep here if it was really hot weather. There can be a fair bit of noise from the bar below both through the floor and also from outside which would be even louder in the more expensive rooms facing the harbour. This is a £100 a night room not £150 (or £140 with a discount code. The 2 tvs work off the same remote but unfortunately one controls the other unless the adjoining door is closed so I had to get up to close the door if I didn't think about it in advance. Food was ok although I thought £35 was overpriced for 2 smoked makeral and some gem lettuce.

Good points: Staff were friendly. Food was quick Nice Habour location I hasten to add I didn't complain about this room as all the issues with it wouldn't be able to be rectified easily. BUT If the brewery read this and want to offer a part refund it would make up for the...

We were visiting from Somerset and we had a lovely meal (roast) but in all honesty could have done with a slightly larger portion as it was so delicious! Waiting staff were courteous and obliging and eager to please, unfortunately one member of staff called Holly did not quite give the same manner, we ordered two glasses of Prosecco and 1 glass of it was flat and short measured! We complained to Holly and she said she’d pour another (fair enough) I also pointed the glass was only half full and she said that’s the measure they do (125ml) to which she then pour the other glass into the measure and then back into the glass making the 2nd glass now flat, so I said can we change for 2 x small bottles instead and she said we’d have to pay for them as extra, I said wouldn’t it be courteous to offer us those as replacement as we now have 2 flat drinks to which point she rolled her eyes and refused giving me 1 fresh glass (out of an already open bottle, so not completely fresh) and I had to keep the other flat drink as she refused to change it! I then left to go and sit with my husband and explained how rude she had been with body tone and her attitude, My husband then took the flat glass back without mentioning who he was and then she kindly exchanged it for him! So my question is to Holly is it only women who have attitude with and you only flutter your eyelashes at the men? Such a shame she let the pub down as it had a lovely atmosphere with mainly lovely staff...

Locals and Holiday Makers avoid this place like the plague. Used to be so good but now totally ruined, wouldn't be surprised if its shut by winter. 25 minutes waiting to be acknowledged by a member of staff another 40 minutes waiting to have our order taken. The food? Really if that's what they call it for the price? Chips? Half a dozen and cold, a spoonful of peas....again cold. A frozen pie that looked as if if came from Lidl. After all this and asking for the desert menu was told in no uncertain terms, "kitchen shuts at 9pm" no sorry or kiss your ... To top it off some poor lady in the corner was told she would have to take her child out as it had gone 9????? One couple walked out without paying as they had waited over an hour for mains!!! Hate to say it but with this attitude they deserve to go bust. Money making at its worse. Oh and no, we wont be going back.

In response to your reply. Initially thanks for having the decency to reply. However, first this was not a result of a visit last year but last week!!! Secondly you state as we were already dining your staff would have given us the option of deserts after 9pm. Why then were we told quite abruptly that this was not the case? "THE KITCHEN SHUTS AT 9, NO DESERTS AVAILABLE". Seems that some of your staff are unaware of your regulations?

PLEASE READ THIS AND...
