Ha! What a great place! We had an absolute blast here, it’s so relaxed and layed back that we ended up eating off our laps sat on the floor and wouldn’t have changed a thing! With sun out providing a gorgeous view for everyone, that you are practically a part of given how close you are to the water btw, it got busy pretty quick, with the music and laughter and chatter all making for the perfect summer vibe. With a large array of drinks, cocktails too, as well as a decent food menu, astonishing really given the size of the place, you can sit here for hours just enjoying the moment and the atmosphere. We ended up having pickled mackerel for something a little lighter, and the tiger prawns, which would be a strong recommendation. Both were lovely! Fresh as can be. Shame they had sold out of muscles, but goes to show how popular the place is. Service was as happy as can be, with everyone seeming to be loving it as much as we were. Great place and you’re missing out if you decide to overlook it.

We’re visiting Cornwall for a week in November and discovered this little gem on our first day. Located just 10 minutes from where we’re staying, we will definitely be back every day for the rest of our trip. The staff were friendly, cheerful, and so very helpful, and the food was outstanding. We tried the “Crabby Crab and Scallop Bollocks,” which was absolutely delicious with a perfect little kick! The scallops were fresh, cooked just right and full of flavor. The setting, right by the harbour, was just gorgeous. We enjoyed our meal by the bar, surrounded by the sounds of birds, the fresh sea air, the warmth from the wood-burning stoves and the smell of burning logs. Eating our food whilst looking out to the harbour and the blue sky made the experience even more special. They also have outdoor heating too, for those who like a bit of extra warmth. If you love seafood like I do, this place is a MUST-VISIT! Just across the road from the car park, you can’t miss it :)

An amazing little surprise. We decided to try here for lunch during our visit to Porthleven and we were amazed by the standard of food and drink from such a small building. We order the mussles and the crispy squid. It was great to see how fresh the food was (They were cleaning the mussles as they were pretty much straight from the sea). The portion sizes were huge and packed full of flavour. There is a wait for the food, which is completely understandable as the building it is prepared in is very small and it is all cooked fresh. It is most definetly worth the wait. We will be eating and drinking here again when we are next down. Visited again this year and the standard was just as high. If only it wasn't a 8 hour journey for me to visit.

Awesome awesome place… 👍💪🔥so good we ate here for dinner TWICE in a week. Great selection of food on rotation at fantastic value, good music and nice views and amazing craft cider. What more could one ask for?! Much much better than other proper sit down seafood joints we went to in cornwall which had similar # of googlemap-stars (We had various prawns, scallops, squid, and lots of fries… pairs nicely with Dan Dan lobsters from across the harbour. It does get windy so be prepared to scoff it all down enjoyably before food gets cold!!)

Porthleven is such a cool place - wasn’t too busy when we were here mid June and it has everything one needs to have their tastebuds satisfied for a whole week! (seafood shacks, decent restaurants, famous pasties x 2, semi-artisan grocery store, adventure activities, harbour, beach, free-ish parking, arts and craft market, craft beer place, more street food). We will come back for sure and I hope mainstream tourists all stay away so this gem maintains its wonderful...
