I visited Heavenly Desserts on a Saturday lunchtime, a time you’d expect a bit of buzz, but the place was surprisingly quiet. The atmosphere felt a bit flat, which may have had more to do with the time of day than the venue itself. It probably gets livelier in the evening. Service: 4 out of 5 The highlight of the visit was definitely the service. Staff were friendly, quick and attentive. I really couldn’t fault it. They knew the menu and made the whole experience smooth and easy. Food: 3 out of 5 The desserts sounded great on paper but didn’t quite deliver. I had the chocolate sundae which was mostly filled with broken bits of ice cream cone. Not terrible but not what I expected either. My friend had the triple chocolate cake. The hot chocolate sauce was rich and satisfying but the rest of the dessert felt a little underwhelming. Atmosphere: 2 out of 5 The decor is nice enough but the place felt lifeless during our visit. With no real background music or crowd it lacked energy. To be fair we went at lunchtime so it might be more lively in the evening. Final Thoughts Heavenly Desserts has a lot of potential thanks to its great service and appealing menu. But the food was just okay and the atmosphere left something to be desired. It might be worth trying again in the evening when the place has a bit more life.

Time for an update on my review! Last time we came here, there was a really horrible manager shouting at his colleagues. We didn’t rate the place after that, I’ve avoided it ever since. We also had some dirty glasses. We returned a few days back for a friend’s birthday dessert, 18 months after my first review. The nasty manager wasn’t here, so automatically a better experience. Hopefully he is long gone. Pretty busy for a Monday which I suppose is a good sign! I found it bizarre that there was an app available to order food instead of a website, especially when the app does not work on Apple phones! Our android pal was able to order via the app. We had our order taken by a server. The food was absolutely yummy as it was last time. Decent price for this kind of restaurant. They could do with a few more toilets however, it’s currently just a cubicle. The staff we spoke to on this day were lovely. Safe to say, I’m less scared of this place now, and we’ll be returning! 😁

Visited on Friday 22nd. Plenty of parking at Rushden lakes. nicely decorated but seats are looking tired and could do with upgrading. I orderd the butterscotch and Walnut Cookie dough (£4.95) and Banana ice cream, which is charged extra £1.50 per scoop, and my wife ordered the Warm Chocolate Brownie bites with Pistachio ice cream and Coconut ice cream and extra crumb also charged at £1.50!! The portions are small as is the ice cream and not worth the money. My tart was pleasant enough and the ice cream (what you got) was okay. Tried the pistachio and coconut which did not taste of either!! My wife commented that a few years ago the potions were much better and they came with ice cream, but not now!! Dont waste your money, go and buy a dessert and ice cream from Tesco and save yourself a lot of money.

Nearly everytime me and friends think about going in here we usually decide against it due to the queue being out of the door. Naturally we assume this is because it would be great and so in our heads we hype the place up.

The past weekend we finally managed to go as there was no queue at all. We were seated immediately and we marvelled at the many choices we could make.

However, when it came time to be served, we were asked by one waiter if we were ready to order, which we were, only for the waiter to turn to his college and attempt to push serving us onto them. There was a bit of back and forth and some pushing between them before the original waiter relented and came back to us to take our orders. This happened directly next to our table.

Our orders arrived within a decent time and the food was good. I had the "I'll have what she's having" which was great except that the strawberry sauce it came with oversweetend the whole dish.

After we had finished, we were left wondering if we needed to wait for a server to ask us if we were ready for the bill, or if we had to ask for it or if we had to go to a till. After asking a waiter for the bill we were informed we had to go to the till which we could not see from where we were seated.

As there was no number on our table and we had never been before, we weren't sure of how things worked in this place and no staff member ever asked us if we had been before or explained anything to us.

At the till the card machines were down and had been for about 20 minutes, luckily we had cash.

Overall, the food was good, if a bit pricey, but the staff looked bored and were not...

Far below the standards I expect from here, 1, the Belgian waffle was great & belgian chocolate ice cream however the cookies and cream ice cream was very bland and grey for some reason. 2 the mojito drink is a badly made lemonade with some leave thrown on top. 3 To top it all off when we went to pay the user Sayed at the till offered poor customer service, never asked how our meal was has he seated us, was not paying attention when I was speaking to him asking questions regarding the app and instead just pointed to the QR code for me to leave a review, himself and the blue shirt man who I can assume is the manager was to pre occupied with trying to watch a sporting even which is currently going on and being shown around the world, had to repeat myself on numerous occasions took 3 attempts for him to draw up the bill correctly. Customer service training needs to be given, check your cameras owner of the business. The lady (sorry forgot the name, Alina maybe) waited on the other hand gave great customer service hence why I have not given you the 1 star, this was my second time visiting, will I make it a third, which knows, when your paying a certain price for something you expect a standard and a certain level of quality which I felt was not there on this occasion. At one point I was tempted too walk off as they spent more time looking down at the screen to watch the game then pay attention to the people in...

I don't know what this place is like in person but as a delivery service via just-eat it is a total sham. Ordered 2 desserts and 2 milkshakes at 18:30 to be delivered at 19:45... It never turned up.

Delivery time came and went, couldn't get through on the phone as it was always busy, finally got through at 20:30, 45 minutes after the delivery was due and asked where it was. Seemed like the person on the end of the phone didn't even know about our order but was nonetheless told it would be with us in 10 minutes...

It gets to 20:55, 25 minutes after we called up and get told that the delivery guy had been driving around for half an hour, left missed calls and now the order had melted so could no longer deliver... LIES. Funnily enough the woman on the phone couldn't explain why she had got through just fine but the delivery drive rhad supposedly not been able to get through, there were no missed calls on my phone and he can't have been driving for half an hour as it had only been 25 minutes since we were told it was 10 minutes away.

What am absolute farce. I've no issue with it being late or even if they couldn't fulfill the order, but don't bloody lie to a customer, especially during a pandemic when most places are crying out just to stay afloat. Luckily just-eat refunded the full amount.

Such a shame, I had looked forward to trying this place out, I won't...
