Have previously had really nice food at Wildwood, and I think it’s important to say that. Unfortunately, the visit today was awful. I wouldn’t say the restaurant was particularly busy, about usual for a Sunday. Got seated at a table of our choice so clearly not that busy. The two waitresses that served us (apologies, didn’t get names) were friendly and took our food and drinks order quick. Ordered a medium rare steak, it was gristly, fatty, and tasteless. It wasn’t medium rare, but if it tasted nice I’d have been fine with it. It was also cold, and I suspect left waiting to be served for a while. It was disgusting, and really put me off. Had to wait for the fries I ordered for ages. If I had wanted to eat the steak, I’d have finished that before the fries came. The rocket that comes with it was bitter. Chips were fine, and actually hot, but didn’t make up for it. My mate had peri-peri pasta and said it was OK, but neither of us were offered sauces or Parmesan. We also had to wait for cutlery for ages. I will say, I don’t blame the waitress that was serving us, she was apologetic and nice, but it seemed that they were perhaps understaffed. As I said, it didn’t seem overly busy though. The manager did apologise profusely and was decent about it, sorting our bill out as well, so I do appreciate that but it has put me off Wildwood now.

I took my son to Wildwood as he likes the food here and I thought I'd treat him. I pre booked the table as I was eating at 1 which is a busy lunch time period especially as it was the school holidays. Our waitress was the assistant manager and she was welcoming, polite and very friendly. When she sat us down she informed us of the specials and what was not available. Me and my son decided what we'd like to eat and ordered our food from the main menu. We shared the garlic prawns drizzled in oil with garlic & herbs over bread which was finger licking tasty. I had a double pepperoni pizza and my son has a pepperoni calazone both of which looked and tasted nice, his was from the kids menu. For deserts both of us had the warm Chocolate brownie except his came with vanilla ice cream and I had mint choc chip. I was asked how the meal was going which I replied to say it was good. The only thing I asked for was chilli sauce as the chilli oil was bland so I was given an unopen Tabasco bottle. The restuarant was busy for a lunch time but the service was excellent and the food tasted nice and was presented well.

The service was great from entering the restaurant to leaving. Very friendly staff and no time was wasted taking our drink orders. Food order was taken after the drinks came shortly after. We had the Rosemary Garlic bread as a starter, we wanted the aranchini but unfortunately they had sold out, and it was with us fairly quickly. Once we finished, the plates were cleared and the mains got pushed through. We didn't have to wait too long for them to arrive also, within 15-20 minutes. All the food we had was delicious and I couldn't find any fault with them all. My partner unfortunately got a fly in her drink and the waiter replaced it with a fresh one which I was glad to see. The same waiter even opened the door for us as we left. Definitely 5* service. To the Owner/Manager: I didn't get his name but he was a younger lad on shift at around 8pm on 14th September and he displayed great attitude toward the job and from what I observed, great service to all diners. Will definitely visit again

Second time we have been here, after the first time, when we came last year was excellent. My wife and I decided to come to Rushden Lakes as one of our rarest of rarest days out. When we arrived at the restaurant, it was more than half empty, with only around a third having customers and at least 3 waitresses in the middle of the day, so we knew that we would have no problem getting a seat. We were greeted and sat at a table for two. It took a very long time until we were asked what drinks we wanted. Took ages to bring those drinks out. Took ages to then be asked what we wanted to eat, at which point the wife asked for a starter and we asked for two pizzas each and for the starter to come out first.

Starter came out, and it took such a long time until the pizzas came out. We could see through out the waitresses talking a lot to each other, despite food piling up at the countertop of the kitchen, with the chefs obviously getting frustrated. Less than Half a restaurant and they just were unable to balance collecting the dishes, taking orders and serving customers. We were never once asked if what we were given was okay. I saw two pizzas be ready to be taken out by waitresses and it easily took over many minutes. I say at least five, the wife says easily over ten until a waitress brought those pizzas, which were ours to our table after an annoyed chef buzzed the bell to make it obvious for someone to collect the food.

The wife had half her pizza, I had less than half and it was a shame but they were not up to a minimum standard. Cold and soggy. Mine was beyond the saltiest pizza that I have ever had, that it was all i could taste. Very, very slow customer service. I went up to the bar and was polite from start to finish saying that i was not happy. The girl at the bar was understanding, apologized and said that she'd talk to her manager to see if we can get a resolution for us. She then came to us and offered 20% off our bill. I politely explained again the poor service that we got and the poor state of our food, as well as the over an hour wait for less half the place being full, if not just a third. She went off again to the manager and came back and said that both pizzas would be taken off and 20% off the rest of the items on the bill. So my review here shows that yes our problem got resolved, but am stating that for the "price" I would have been charged had I had to pay with just 20% off was not good enough. It is a shame as it's a nice place, but sadly next time we come to Rushden Lakes we'll likely not return to this establishment again as it left a very sour mood and taste for the conclusion of...

I visited with my parents for dinner a couple of weeks ago now. It was easier enough to get a table, it was early evening. The table is already set out, but the glasses and cutlery weren’t clean. You could see fingerprints on them. My mum had to ask for new cutlery, I wasn’t eating so I didn’t need mine. The initial service was good, took drink order and then food. One thing I will say is a positive, is when my mum asked for the vegan option, the young waitress informed my mum of how they cook the chips in the same oil as meat products and hers will be baked. My mums been to a few wildwoods and has never been informed of the how the chips are cooked, and was grateful the waitress informed her. The food was good got the order correct. I ordered my first drink which was fine but then trying to order another I was told they’d run out of certain elements so couldn’t make it. So the waitress took another order from me and again came back saying this too couldn’t be made, she then said they have none of the things for the cocktails and there was only one type. The food took a while to come. There were a couple of mix up due to the tables being moved and staff didn’t know. But the atmosphere wasn’t great. There seemed to be a few unhappy staff members, you could tell they were new staff and just out of school, and they seemed to be tasked with telling customers bad news and apologising, and you could see they were a bit lost. And as it’s the summer holidays, I’m assuming they had been busy all day. But they just seemed unhappy and under trained. There was an issue with one of the tills, and you could see the young waitress was getting flustered, and there was a lady with her that I’m assuming was a manager telling her what to do, but it sounded more like she was telling her off. If staffed aren’t trained correctly and are new it’s not fair to use that as a get out of jail free card. Managers need to see what help they need and help them. Lead by example. It’s like learner drivers, all drivers were there once, so give them a...

Abysmal, honestly the worst restaurant I've been too for a while. The food was mediocre yet so expensive. Comparing to Pizza Express/ GBK /Nandos and Prezzo the food was seriously poor. The calamari was so chewy (felt like it wasn't fresh) and the amount/size was just lacklustre.

We were a group booking with some kids meals and some adult meals. We had varied meals, like penne arrabiata, beef burger, butterfly sea-bass, and so on. I can vouch the beef burger and penne arrabiata were substandard, just literally no real flavouring and again the pasta felt chewy (i.e undercooked). I could go on about the food, but let's take this as a subjective opinion.

The worst thing was when we asked for some tap water and cups. Not only did they give us wine glasses as opposed to actual cups for the water, but the kids cups they gave us, had dirt, mould and just were very dirty inside. If it wasn't for my daughter informing me it would of been very bad, when I showed them the waitress just said 'sorry' and that's it. What an absolute joke.

Then, when naturally our order was missing a few side orders the eastern european lady who came to serve us (she was like a waitress/manager/frontline type person) didn't apologise, just an aggressive tone and saying 'so you wanted an additional x y z' it's not additional if we ordered it as part of the original order. We checked the order 3 times with the other waitress.

There was only one competent waitress, who was mainly at the side til, and she was pleasant and friendly, the rest either were rude and just poor at communicating positively or just inexperienced.

The atmosphere is good, buzzing, but I can't believe what people pay for what type of service and food you get here, it's so poor, and definitely not the money. You might as well go chicken rush or Greggs for a better quality meal (altho ew to those two places :D)

I can't recommend any dish, because all the food cooked was just...
