Firstly - fantastic pizza and lovely drinks. We sat down and it was busy but we ordered within 5 minutes and got our drinks very quickly. Then 1 hour and 10 minutes later, I asked where our food was. We'd gone in just before 1pm and this was 2.15pm. No one had said there was a wait of any kind for food. It was my friend's birthday and we were relaxed and enjoyed chatting and we weren't rushing off to anything at least, or this would have been a review with fewer stars!
When I asked how long the food would be at 2.15pm, the waiter said "we've been busy" and then went away, but didn't apologise and he didn't come back to speak to us. How've he did come out with our pizzas about 8 minutes later. He then apologised. Also when I paid I was asked how everything had been. I explained about the slow service and the lady did apologise again.
The pizzas were delicious and my friend enjoyed herself hence the 4 starts but I probably wouldn't come again or at least not without asking how long the food would be before I ordered. Not everyone has time to sit for 2 hours...
Read moreLooks nice, food was OK. Dog friendly. Sadly 'Service ' is completely lacking. I had to ask for them to bring salt and pepper. I had to ask for tomato sauce, the most basic of things that most people will want with their meal and they don't even have the initiative to bring them with the food. After my second request the waitress said 'yep' like I'd put her out ! Very lazy . Also, it's really rude to clear plates off the table unless everyone has finished eating. Learn what ' Service' is before you have the cheek to ask for a service tip!
Bad day? The place was quiet. The 'manageress ' was sat at a table on her laptop. You weren't busy. We asked for green tea.. the guy says 'we don't do green tea' hmm really? Why is it on the menu? No one made eye contact with us when we came in, even if you're busy, you know when customers have walked in an all you need to do is say hello , help yourself to a table, be with you in a min . I grew up in restaurant, I definitely know what...
Read moreThis fabulous little bar/bistro was packed on the Thursday we went; luckily, a couple of generous locals let us share their narrow bench table. Our host was super friendly and genuinely enthusiastic about the beers and pizza on offer.
I never usually choose to go for a pizza, but this place has been recommended and it did not disappoint. We shared a pizza with anchovies (nice silvery ones and not the super salted cheapies) and black olives. The pea shoots on top gave a hit of freshness and looked pretty, but TBH were a bit pointless (except for the points you get for including this summer's trendiest garnish.) The pizza itself was gorgeous. Quite possibly the nicest one outside of Italy and my mate's mum's that I have ever had. And I am difficult to please.
My French partner enjoyed the beer and I enjoyed my Pinot.
Excellent place. It's worth moving to...
