I’ll start by saying the food was really lovely. The all you can eat steak is a great idea and it is good quality meat - the sides and sauces were delicious too. Big downfall to this place is rude staff, and just generally poor service, we booked and brought 4 small children, we were quickly told upon entry if we were having all you can eat steak the children have to have it aswell, baring in mind one of them is 1 years old 😂 (I had to ask for a high chair 5 times) Before I go any further - at no point did I ask for all the kids to eat from our plates, I literally asked if we can order them a kids meal. Which they don’t do. Waitress was defensive when explaining they don’t give out free food, and I reminded her why would I be wanting to buy them all meals if I was going to then feed them my food aswell? Makes no sense. We finally came to the agreement we could order side dishes for the children - why don’t you have a kids menu!! This would eliminate any chances of people trying to feed their kids for free!! Second negative to this place is the waiting times, steak and hot plates arrived, waited another 10 mins for steak sauces. When we asked for any refills there was long waits, and god forbid you need a new hot plate - you’ll be waiting 30 mins! How can you enforce a time limit but then keep customers waiting so long. To conclude we felt as though this business is extremely money orientated, they’re so worried and focused about people trying to get an extra portion of chips out of them that they forget to provide decent customer service to people who are paying to be there. They were all either having a bad day or hate their jobs. It was miserable. In the end we left a £20 tip as a good deed. Hopefully this reminds them in the future to treat customers better and improve the way they do things. We weren’t asking for a lot but were made to feel uncomfortable. Mainly get yourselves a kids menu! Sadly we won’t be coming back or...
Read moreOur experience at this restaurant was disappointing. We had made a reservation in advance for a party of 15 to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were looking forward to trying the restaurant since it had received good reviews online.
Upon our arrival, we were seated promptly and given menus. However, our server was slow to take our drink orders, taking over 10 minutes to return to our table. When they finally came back, we were disappointed to find out that the wine we requested was unavailable, and two others were not available either. We were asked to choose a different wine, but it did not quite meet our expectations.
Unfortunately, the service was relatively slow, and our food took more than an hour to be served. Additionally, some dishes (specifically, 2 Chicken Katsu and 1 Salmon Crispy) were served cold, making us feel like they had been stored in the fridge for some time. Furthermore, some dishes were also not available.
Although we waited a long time for our starters and mains, we were not informed that the kitchen would be closing. Additionally, the servers did not inquire if we would like to order desserts or more drinks before the kitchen closed, meaning we missed out on trying any of the desserts and final drinks.
Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. The service was slow, the food was cold, and not all of the wines on the menu were available. I would much rather go to a restaurant where I can get a good meal and good service.
To help enhance the restaurant's service, you may want to consider the following suggestions:
• Providing training to the staff to ensure they are more attentive to the customers' needs. • Ensuring that all the wines and food listed on the menu are available. • Please ensure that the food is adequately hot before bringing it to the table. • Informing customers about the kitchen's closing time so that they can order dessert...
Read moreI ordered the Japanese style Grilled scallops as a starter and they were one of the best things I've ever eaten. A flavour combination I'd never had before, whiskey, an almost cheesy umami from the mushrooms and fish eggs and perfectly cooked sliced scallops presented in a flaming inferno. Incredible.
The service was friendly but slightly lacking. After ordering the scallops, they were brought to me on fire. I was surprised but fine with this, and the waitress told me to be careful moving the shells because they could reignite.
So after a while watching the flames I started carefully tucking into the dish. A waiter came over and stressed that "usually" people wait until the flames have died down. Well I'm not accustomed to dining with fire. Maybe if someone asked if had had this dish before, I could have been properly informed. After I finished the scallops, I tried some of the sauce that the shells were sitting on. It looked like sauce overspill. However it was a thick salt solution I imagine was required for the flaming whiskey to burn for so long. It would have been nice to told about this because it was revolting and left a terrible taste in my mouth.
After I first sat down and ordered drinks I asked that the food and drink receipts could be made separate. I mentioned again the second time I saw the waitress because I appreciate this isn't a standard request. She agreed.
The receipt was brought to me as one, and I had to make the request a third time. And they had to reprint the receipts.
So yeah, amazing food, the people were friendly and the atmosphere was great but they need to focus on the level of service. The food deserves 5 stars but the lack of info on a peculiar dish, and the blunders around the receipt...
