When we got there it seemed nice! We went in and got seated quickly! They asked us for drinks which we all gave our order and also ordered some water for the table! They gave us our drinks in good time with a jug of water! We then gave our starter and main order as standard and we also asked for glasses for the water! After 45 minutes we finally got 2 out of the 5 starters! We then had to wait another 25 minutes for the other 3 starters to come out (even through 3 of the starters ordered were the same thing) in this time the first 2 starters had gone cold which may be our fault because when we go out to eat together we like to actually eat together! When the last 3 starters finally came out we then asked again for the 4th or 5th time for glasses for the water we had been given over an hour beforehand! After this and when we finished our starters they did then start to quicken up and only had to wait about 15mins for our main which is more standard and then they did come check on us more and we were able to top up our drinks easier! The food was absolutely lovely even though the starter was cold! It was just so disappointing and frustrating that we felt forgotten about for over an hour! If it wasn't for this we would've had a really lovely time! Because of our experience I would recomend this restaurant to people either eating alone or a table for two if you don't mind not eating together! If you're going as a group of 3 or more I would recomend you go...
Read moreOur group decided on Biplob for our get-together, and although my rating is stingy, the food is only part of the evening's experience. Although the food was fine, it's how you feel when you leave the restaurant that counts.
The food is very expensive now, with some examples being the chicken chat starter costing £7.95, a lamb biryani at £14.95, sag paneer side dish at £6.95 and a king prawn jalfrezi at £18.95.
We enjoyed poppadoms, a main course and side orders, and two of our group decided they would like a dessert afterwards as they hadn't had starters. However, as soon as we had finished our main courses, one waiter collected the dishes and another brought the bill straight over to our table! There was no opportunity to ask for extra drinks or the dessert menu. The waiter who took our payments seemed quite surly and not at all friendly. Despite all this, we left a tip.
All of us smiled at various members of staff on our way out, saying thank you and goodbye. Not a single member of the team smiled back or even acknowledged us.
Standing on the street outside Biplob, we felt hurt and bewildered - what had we done wrong?? We were polite and friendly to the staff; we weren't drunk, loud or swearing; we hadn't even spilled anything. It's one of the rare occasions we regretted leaving a tip. We were upset by our experience and won't be...
Read moreJust got back from BIPLOP went for lunch with my hubby felt very rushed as soon as we got in there we got told straight away that they shut at 2 O'clock, we got in there at 1.05 Then we ordered a starter for my husband to be asked if he wanted that with our main course which we said no (starter main course rocket science ???). I then asked for some poppadum's which I was then told they did not have any !!!!!!! Ok never in the whole of my life have I been into a Indian restaurant before where they do not have poppadum's. We then had our starter, only to get half way through when they brought the main out at that point we asked for the bill just had enough of being rushed paid for our drinks & half the starter that we had (full price for the starter bad mistake). I told them they were very rude. As you can guess from this, we will never be going there again!! If they don't want serve people during the hours they claim to be open what else are they not doing...
