Can not comment on food as we did not get to eat, after putting our name down for a table we ordered a drink my first pint was cloudy and I did give it time to settle although a pint of lager should not need to settle and should pull clear, I mentioned my beer was cloudy and it was changed for a fresh pint with an excuse it must be the colour of the glass really it was in a clear pint glass so should be no colour. So we waited to be told there was a table free eventually we were informed there was a table and pointed to the room where it was, we took our drinks and sat down, no menu on the table so could not look to see what they served, we waited about 10 minutes and my misses asked a passing staff member for menus, they were brought over and we were told a list of what they did not have on the menu, We decided to leave without eating after discussing how long we had waited and the fact we then had to ask for menus, If this was anything to go on I am pretty sure our wait to order and eventually get food would of been just as bad. We took our drinks outside to finish and decided to go in the chippy next door as we were starving. Must say thank god for the Chippy next door. We ate our food from the chippy and made our way over to The Star Inn where we enjoyed a nice...

Really disappointing both in terms of the food and the service. We waited about 45 mins for our food to come out - we were a table of 3 and if I'd been there myself, I'd have walked out. We asked a couple of times about the food and were told "it's coming", and fairly rudely too - OK its the 27th Dec, you don't want to be at work but hey, we've all been there.

When the food came out, the sandwich we ordered came out on stale white bread (inedible), most of the chips weren't cooked through (also mostly inedible), the pie wasn't warmed through and it was not even worth calling the waitress over - if it took 45 mins to just GET our food, I wasn't so keen on giving it back to them to try to reheat properly.

Literally the only things good about the whole experience were a) the pub was nice and b) the wine. They did comp two meals, however, which was good because it wasn't worth paying for. Give it a miss, especially around Christmas....or go just...

2 stars for this place. The pub itself is a nice experience. The staff are friendly however the service was very very slow. The food - DREADFUL! We ordered a mushroom soup as starter only to be served a Mediteranian Vegetable Soup that had so much salt in it you just could not eat it - this was served despite not being informed the mushroom soup was now off the menu. My wife had the Crab Linguine where the Crab had no taste and was swimming in the source. I had the Belly Pork - meat was nice. Our son had the Chicken and it was ok. But no matter what you had it was all covered with the same sauce! The price was much too high for the "food" that was served. First night of our holiday and we won't be returning to this place - not for the food anyway! As for desert we passed on that experience in case in clashed with the time...

A great Pub, full of friendly locals and tourists alike (I made Chums with a deaf local Dude and a couple of German Ladies) with a superb Lady running the place…She was making it look easy whilst multi tasking that caused my head to hurt!!! The food was absolutely banging too, this was the Slow Cooked Pork Belly and it was AMAZING. The base of the Pork was beautifully chewy that only comes from a long, slow cook whilst the meat was softly unctuous but with integrity, the fat perfectly rendered throughout and the skin was that beautiful, soft, gelatinously deliciousness with an almost impossibly crisp, glass like outer. Happily, the Chef popped out just as we were leaving so managed to convey my thanks and a fist bump👊🏽

There are 4 decent pubs in St Just and all have their best bits but the KA is my pub of choice for having a cold Proper Job Pale Ale on a sunny afternoon. The locals love it and its always buzzing, and if you can get a seat outside ( not as bad as it sounds, although they are always busy I've never failed to grab a seat outside, mostly by luck!) then you've got the afternoon's entertainment sorted. Very cosy inside, serves good pub food, friendly and lively, what more could you want?

This place is a pub at the heart of the picturesque Cornish village of St Just. At the time of my visit there were two ales available, both from the local St Austell brewery. There is a fair amount of outdoor seating at the front. I confess I have not tried the food here though the menu looks like quite a comprehensive array of classic British pub grub.
