I am still in utter shock at the appalling customer service that I received in the Kitchen today. After waiting for an hour for a table, which might I add is perfectly fine as I fully appreciate how busy this place can become, we were stood in the queue and watched at least four tables that had paid and left the restaurant, a further 15 minutes passed and we watched with hungry eyes the waitresses slowly prepare the tables. Eventually we were invited up to sit on our table, at this point I noticed there were in fact four prepped tables and still a huge queue of hungry people waiting in the deli area.
I mentioned to the waitress, who later identified herself as the owner that the speed in which they had turned tables around was lacking and that they could have issued menus to the people waiting downstairs which would speed up the process once seated.
At this point the waitress/owner started shouting in an embarrassingly loud town and asking me if I would like to do her job and that her and her team were doing there best. She then told me I wasn't welcome to stay and eat and that I should leave immediately.
As someone who owns multiple businesses and puts customer service at the forefront of everything we do, I was shocked at the way this so called business owner had conducted herself. Multiple people upon my exit from the restaurant had commented on her behaviour and also others left after her embarrassing outburst.
If you have any pride in customer service expect an excellent service whilst out dining I would wholeheartedly advise steering well clear of...
Read morePoorly ran but the staff were lovely and the food was amazing.
Even though it was a Saturday, I was not expecting to have to wait just over an hour for a table without being given a menu or a bench or something to sit on. When we got to our table there were not any physical menus or even a QR code one so you had to physically get up and walk around the tables to see the menus on the large chalk boards. With it being my first visit I am not sure if that was a temporary thing or not. However, it felt really imposing to the people sat at the tables underneath the boards.
I also could not see any where that would make the seating area accessible for wheel chair users or people with prams but I might be wrong.
For the food, the portions were generous and tasted great. Me and my friend ordered the burgers and you could tell that they are made with quality ingredients. We left extremely full and the waitress was very obliging with a takeout box for left overs.
Overall it was a really nice experience and I think the waiting time is something that is forgiven because of how nice the food is. Maybe keep in mind the accessibility if it’s your...
Read moreVisited with a friend mid-week in August 2022. Firstly you could not book in advance. Upon arrival there rather a long queue (clearly a popular place). Became more obvious later on that there was actually 2x queues - one for the deli and one for the cafe, no staff at the door directing customers to one or the other, or asking how many guests per party etc. 45-50 mins later we were shown to our table - upstairs seating only, could not see any lift up to the seating area. No menus on the table, instead informed that the menus were on display on the walls - from where we were sat this meant physically getting up to peruse the menus and it felt invasive to other customers space who were themselves sat in front of the menus on the walls. No vegan options on the menu, staff did agree to make my friend a ‘vegan’ sandwich, however. No milk alternatives available on the menu. What we both had to eat was nice and well-presented, bought some deli items on our way out which were good quality also. However, we didn’t feel it was a very well run establishment overall, won’t be rushing back without a booking system...
