La Fontana Restaurant & Wine Bar — Restaurant in England

Would give 6 stars if possible!

La Fontana is one of my favourite restaurants I've visited in the UK, and potentially the best Italian one I've been to. Service is prompt and the staff are absolutely lovely, the atmosphere and decor are fantastic and it makes for a great date spot or family meal out.

The name escapes me, but the goat's cheese pizza is definitely my go-to, cooked to perfection and the portion sizes are impressive (usually enough to take a couple of slices home to enjoy later). There is also a great pasta menu with plenty of delicious options.

The food that I had was gorgeous but I think the menu design and approach to dietary options could benefit from a few updates. It was quite hard being vegetarian there let alone those who may be vegan where sadly I don't think there was an option. A simple update to the exisisting menu putting (Vg) next to the Vegetarian options would be very helpful so that you dont have to spend time reading everything to see whether it is vegetarian or not. Had takeaway last night, which was good in parts and bad in others. my Chicken pasta was great, but the side of chilli potato taspas was awful basically old warmed up potatoes in a sort of tomato slop with a few peppers... I have had this dish before and it has been lovely , the potatoes wore fried and crispy and the sauce was great.. last night was not a patch on this. Also ordered a butterflied chicken dish sadly this leaked out of the container.. it came with some fresh veg that were overcooked .
