We're from the east of Reading and, bored by the centre of Reading, we decided to head out of town for food. Found this Thai restaurant on google in Twyford and decided to give it a go.
We both had a tom soup, different styles, for starters and both were as good as we've had in the UK for a very long time.
We then had sizzling prawns for mains. This isn't a dish I normally order in a Thai restaurant, or even in Thailand, so I've nothing to compare it to but it was lovely! Really tasty, the right amount of spice (you can choose low, medium or hot - we chose medium) and I definitely wanted more (luckily my wife never finishes a main!).
The service was really friendly, with a smile and we had a lovely time.
The only thing I'd say is that, despite an early dinner of 6pm, we were the only people in the restaurant. This is a great Thai restaurant, people of Twyford if you don't use it then you're going to lose it. Do yourself a favour and...
Read moreI’m giving 4 stars only because I’m always suspicious when all the reviews are 5 stars, so I want you to know this is really genuine. I love Thai food and having been to the Thai Butterfly last year and had the most abysmal service (waiting an hour and a quarter for a drink!), I was interested to try the new Lumpini. What a difference in service! I have to be honest, the photographs of the food in the windows and the wipe clean menus did make me concerned about the quality, but when the food arrived it was really lovely. I have subsequently also had a take away and it was just as good, with a lot of care taken over packing the dishes. The stand out thing about this place though is the service. Our two waiters were charming, funny and really attentive, an absolute asset and made us feel so welcome. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you for turning this...
Read moreThe best Thai food we have tasted in a long time! We visited on a Saturday night it was a great atmosphere and the staff were very attentive. The menu selection is spot on with a simple layout. We shared the Tiger Beef Sirloin Steak, Chicken Pad Thai and Coconut Rice. The steak was beautifully cooked, tender and full of flavour. The Pad Thai was carefully constructed with detail and every mouthful was a delight.
We wouldn't usually order dessert but the food was so good and we were having a lovely time relaxing that we didn't want to leave! We orderd the Lotus Biscoff Vanilla Cheesecake which was a home-made proper slab of cheesecake, with a huge size scoop of ice cream. If you don't fancy Thai, its worth coming for the cheesecake alone!
We can't wait to return to try more scrummy food from the menu! Thanks to Dennis and his team at...
