A proper english, rustic country pub in a beautiful old wooden beamed building with a large pub garden out the back which leads into another big garden with a swings and slides etc for the children ! Nice relaxed atmosphere and mix of different types of people. And most importantly a good selection of nice dogs to say hello to! 🤩🤩🤩 We went here to watch the Lions Match and they have screens up everywhere for people who are interested in it. Very easy to see the screens if you are watching sport. The wooden beams, wooden floor and wooden everything inside makes you feel instantly at home and comfortable in a proper country pub. The building is lovely and the outside area is big and very fun. After 4 when foood stops being served you can get food from the turkish van next to the pub, and they allow you to bring it in the pub.

Great pub and we were very fortunate that the weather allowed us to sit in the outdoor beer garden and watch the chamipons league final between Tottenham and Liverpool

Lovely place - staff are friendly, the locally-sourced ales are tasty, and the garden out the back is splendid on a bright sunny day!

They charged £25 a ticket for Twyfest, locked the loos inside so everyone had to use a really smelly portacabin outside with only 3 loos per sex. We asked for a Pimms - a not unreasonable request on a hot sunny afternoon at 5pm - to be told they didn't have any. No apology, an immediate refusal of my suggestion that they perhaps go and get some - the attitude was very much "take it or leave it, we don't care". It may be a nice pub for locals, but if you're not a local I'd suggest trying a different one.

EDIT: While it is extremely flattering to be called a "spoilt little brat", I'm in my mid 40s and my friend is a 55 year old breast cancer survivor. On the contrary, no one applauded - your security chap actually apologised for what he agreed was a totally disproportionate response from you to customers who had merely complained, and he refunded the £50 we spent on tickets that you told us you would keep because "you could, it's your pub". If self-entitlement extends to expecting either the gig you've paid for or your money back then yes, I guess I am self-entitled.

The bassist, Davey, came out to ask why we weren't back in the tent after you'd (inexplicably to him and to us) removed everyone half way through the soundcheck (which is what we complained about and were thrown out for complaining about). We declined his offer to come back in because it really wasn't worth your aggravation, and (contrary to your opinion) we respect rules (we are both autistic individuals), and we very much enjoyed seeing him again when he came back out to us after the gig. If you're going to host gigs, you should be able to take customers returning the attitude you give to them. Pretending we were aggressive and "foul-mouthed" when I was articulate and sarcastic (yes) is just ridiculous. If you had not already taken exception to our complaints about the Pimms and locking the loos, I suspect you would not have treated us so badly. As it was you threatened me with removal by the Police, which as I said at the time, was clearly ludicrous since I had done nothing at all beyond voicing that removing people from the tent halfway through the soundcheck was crazy. I merely calmly refused to accede to your threats, and refused to leave until you refunded me, which occurred.

Of course we will not come back - why would we? I have survived 43 years of happy gig going without ever having to visit your pub. In all my years of moshes I have never met such treatment - it is the equivalent of a hard-hitting comedian being unable to withstand a mild heckle without bursting...

Dropped in for a pint and sandwich. Pint was fine, but paid £6.00 for a tuna mayonnaise sandwich which consisted of 2 thick slabs of bread between which was a minute/ trace of Tuna without no noticeable mayonnaise. The top of the sandwich was overlaid/ festooned with a pile of greenery and crisps. Absolutely unappetising and a throw back to 1950s catering. Felt robbed. As for friendly atmosphere that was nil.Tried to get the morose Landlord into conversation especially as I was on my own and felt in need of a distraction from the things on my mind at the time but no joy. He was more interested in one of his heavy drinker clients. It’s...
