After asking if Lady Scarletts Tea Parlour was up for a challenge, I can absolutely say Tony, Ange, their daughter & young staff team are awesome & they most certainly delivered. From initial e mails to arrival at Ventnor Seafront, they pulled off the most fantastic Afternoon Tea for 7 including one vegetarian; one vegetarian Coeliac; one takeaway & 4 'normal'. The sandwiches were inspiring: cucumber & fresh mint leaves; guacomole & pepper; egg mayo; tuna mayo; smoked salmon & cream cheese; cheese & tomato; ham; ham & coleslaw and peppered mackerel. All were fresh & delicious. Then came fresh homemade fruit scones, clotted cream & jam followed by a fabulous collection of cake bites. Washed down with copious amounts of hot tea, in bone china from teapots with tea cosies. This was a perfect family Afternoon Tea, presented beautifully by Tony & Ange. In Mums 80th year, this was the most wonderful family time and the memory of today with stay with us forever. Thank...

I have never reviewed anywhere before but feel compelled to review Lady Scarlett’s, Ventnor. The outside and entrance give no clue as to how lovely this little cafe is. The staff here were very welcoming and friendly and extremely helpful with our 91 year old mum who is in a wheelchair. The afternoon tea was excellent. We were given a lovely variety of mini pies, sandwiches, cakes and scones all accompanied by delicious tea served in china tea pots (with knitted cosies) to be drunk from bone china cups. The cafe is decorated with a huge variety of 1940’s memorabilia, both interesting and humerus which we all enjoyed. The service was excellent. We were given the right amount of attention and plenty of time and felt thoroughly relaxed. The food that we couldn’t manage to eat was beautifully packed for us to take away. I would thoroughly recommend a visit and will be returning myself with other...

We had a wonderful experience at lady scarletts, we booked a high tea for 3 people, (book 24hrs in advance) and give a £5 deposit per person which I think is a great idea.the food was top class.the sarnies were freshly made and very generously filled, best egg sarnies I've had. Then came the scones and cream, huge warm scones, clotted cream and a pot of jam, followed by 3 types of cake.all in all, lady scarletts is a gem of a tearoom with amazing food and really friendly staff.if I could give 100 star rating I would..definitely worth going here,we will be going back for sure. A big thanks too all at lady scarletts for an experience we will never forget... Ooh the smoked salmon sarnies,,and the .......I could go on..and on..please,,go and taste it too...

My two pals and I were on a bike tour around the IoW and stopped in Ventnor. This place is very subtle on the outside but is amazing on the inside. The toilet is like an air raid shelter! Machine guns on the ceiling and bullets for light pull cords, it is a fascinating place to see. The staff are ever so friendly and chatty. We all had a bacon baguette and a beer on the tables outside and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. Highly recommended. There is parking along the front but is popular. There is a car park further up the road. There is a single cubicle toilet (air raid shelter) and tables outside as well as inside. There is hand sanitiser and a small step on entry.

A wonderful step back in time. From the outside you don't really appreciate how interesting and cool this place is. I'm sure it's a certain age group, but even if you're not a child of the 50s or 60s and waxed nostalgic about these times this is like a little bit of history. The decor and atmosphere aside, the tea and coffee served in retro cups, the food is simple ( paninis and sandwiches) but also indulgent, with pastries and cakes all home-made. And the couple that run it are absolutely delightful and charming. Put this on your list of things to do in Ventnor. PS make sure you go to the toilet there! Don't think I've ever said that on a review before!!!

We stopped here for a drink and we're just taken back by the amazing vibe, décor and full on WW2 theme. We spotted a crab pasty on the menus so order it to share. We hadn't had crab before and I have to say, it was good in size, piping hot, flavourful and had a sweetness to it that just hit the craving spot. We were lucky enough to turn up when they had live music, again in tune with the WW2 theme. Will most definitely be back to sample more.of the menus and soak up the vibe. Staff were amazing, friendly and seemed like all they wanted to do was make our afternoon.
