!!NEVER AGAIN!!! This was my 3rd visit to this restaurant. Always though it was a nice place very over priced but did return although only visited in off peek times. Donāt what ever you do accept seating near the bar. Freezing cold as the tables are sat right next to the outside smoking area out the back. Constantly the door is left open. We was sat next to a table of 15 kids. (No parents) They were young, enjoying life which is good to see but when they start taking over the microphone of the singer and body slamming each other on the restaurant floor it tends to feel very uncomfortable. Watching the waitresses and waiters trying to get drinks and food past them was comical. All in all the manager stood and watched all night (not once did he ask them to calm down) and then on our way out said sorry about that and Iām going to look into the open smokerās door next week. Felt short changed after a Ā£500 bill to sit all night with my coat on, smelling smoke from an open door with my dinner and worrying if a group of kids are about to take out my table. The 2 other tables in the bar area left pretty quickly also. I get the kids are not always there but the customer service from a manger who has stood on the restaurant floor and watched the whole night is disgusting. This could have been such a different out come had the manager delt with this in a completely different way. A Recognition of paying customers having an uncomfortable time from the manager was all it took. And they need to decide what they want a restaurant or a restaurant/dance venue because there is no room for dancing so they need to lose tables, (will cost them a lot of money ) and the singing is just too loud for eating a meal, hence why 2 tables got up dancing. Normally my favourite food I didnāt have any issues, think my falafel was reheated though but my partners was very fatty. I wouldnāt have put a review about it but as Iām writing this is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am lucky in my job as a journalist to dine at many wonderful restaurants. Unfortunately my experience here was not one of them. Pros - the food is good, presentation of food is good and the atmosphere lively. Cons - very rude and condescending manager (owner?). Please note the deposit is not a deposit in the normal definition despite what it says on the booking page (normal restaurant deposits being redeemable against a diner's bill, or holding card details that are only charged when a diner doesn't show). It is not taken off your bill. We had to ask for that to happen. This led to some misunderstanding about the tip, which was not explained by the waiter who just kept saying ' no, no, no'. According to the manager, it is held and refunded within 48 hours. When I queried this policy he told me not to come back after literally taking five pound notes out to help me understand it! And we were charged a service charge for 6 people when it clearly states that is charged for 8 people on the booking page. A shame as, while I don't live locally, my family does and likes to support local restaurants. If it improves its customer service and makes the booking policy clearer, plus helps its staff to explain it clearly, I would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLovely venue, chairs are comfortable, toilets are boujee, chefs on show. Really great venue with so much potential. Unfortunately my husband and I attended with our 5 year old. I havenāt seen my husband all week due to work and my son was playing a game on my phone so that he could have fun while I could speak to my husband. A waiter, who is assume was the manager as he was in a dark blue top not white, then told my son to get off the phone (heās 5) and then picked him up and walked him around the restaurant to show him the other children who were not watching a phone and therefore ābetter behavedā than he was. My son then came back to his seat and obviously had a melt down and cried his eyes out. I was really upset so couldnāt eat my meal so essentially we paid Ā£84 for some bread and efes.
I think the staff need to be more aware of potential ASD kids - autism spectrum disorder - because you really canāt shame a 5 year old for watching a phone so his parents can maybe sit and enjoy a meal together.
The blue shirted man did say heād give my son a free desert to try to make it better as he apologised but we did not...
