Well mixed review, we waited a while to be seated which is no problem. We were greeted with a very grumpy abrupt man I believe to be the manager, I could be wrong but his mannerism gave us that impression. We were seated and then he threw the menus onto the table and walked away after saying he would be back. Very much the impression we were an inconvenience. We looked at the menu and I asked if there was a vegetarian option as my sister was vegetarian.. he then said grumpily with a tut and shrug . Everything on the menu with a v. Avocado salad or chips. I asked so it there no other options, he said obviously fishcakes or salmon... I replied but that's not vegetarian and he said yes it is, I replied no its not so my sister ordered a scone . I ordered the pea and ham soup which he raised his voice at me and said well that's not vegetarian is it, no I replied its my sister who is vegetarian. I really was taken aback. 😪 a manager who was not wearing a mask, does know that vegetarians do not eat fish...and continued to be rude throughout service. Not just to me but to other customers. When working front of house it is important to greet your customers with a smile and great hospitality. Now the restaurant wasn't even busy. We'll we will never be back or be an inconvenience in the cafe again. Now the positives, the young lad serving our food , he was polite smart and wearing a mask and very I think the manager needs to learn from him. Awful place and awful menu.. and the manager or front of house greeter needs lessons in...

We visited here last year and we decided today we were going to visit again but we were very disappointed. Firstly, it was freezing in there it which was not expected as it was cold outside. I thought they would have blow heaters or the radiators on. We ordered full English, and the food was cold and very bland as if it was pre-cooked first thing this morning, then reheated to be served to us. The hot chocolate tasted like water. There was no flavour. You have to pay in advance. I am not surprised if they are serving cold food. Many people would send it back and not pay for it. The waitresses asked if everything was okay. we explained that it wasn't, and she said that she would give the chef the feedback. Don't think we will be using this place again when we visit with our group for the Christmas decorations. Shame as it was very good last year. I'm glad I visited in advance before our group did as they would be disappointed to be...

Four stars for food. Excellent. But the service ….. waited a good five minutes to be seated without any acknowledgement from passing staff! Ok can handle that. Had our lunch and it was delicious. Now comes the major negative… after waiting 25 minute for our plates to be removed and to be asked if we wanted anything else, my daughter went to the counter just to order cakes. Was told someone would be with us shortly. Waited another 15 minutes, called waiter over to order said cake and was told in rather curt manner ‘you are on the list and have to wait your turn’. REALLY!! How rude!! So we walked out! While waiting to pay waiter came by and said ‘you ARE next you know’ in a sarcastic manner, what a very rude man! Busy or not, no excuse for rudeness. Won’t...

There was a notice saying aplogising stating they were understaffed so a full menu may not be available. But all the staff were clearly working extremely hard and were attentive. You wouldn't have known. Very busy and there was a small wait to be seated. You could have a light bite or lunch. We opted for lunch. Our meals were very reasonably priced and perfectly acceptable. However, sadly my friend didn't enjoy her main at all (pesto, quinoa salad) and she isn't a fussy eater at all and felt something tasted odd. Normally I would have mentioned it but the staff were working so hard and were so kind, I didn't have the heart. I do feel that £2.30 for a small bottle of water is unreasonable; which my friend had. I opted for tap water.

It looks like a lovely relaxing quaint English tea room which is very good for a garden centre but was disappointed in their gluten free apple and plum cake slice. It had a strange texture and lacked flavour. My dad had a bakewell slice which he said was delicious. The drinks were nice. Hot chocolate with coconut milk was delicious costing £4. It's table service but paid at the counter. We have been here several times but this is the first time trying gluten free cake. I am happy to see they catered for different dietary requirements.

A little disappointed as we had to queue outside even though when we got in there were lost of empty tables. There was some dirt in the windows as well as a dead wasp. We stopped for cake and a drink and the Pear and Ginger cake was amazing however the Carrot cake was dry and heavy (seemed a bit stale) We got missed for service twice and when we went to pay we were made to fill a bit of an inconvenience. It wasn’t particularly busy at there seemed to be at least 6 people about conducting service
