This is a converted stables in the heart of Lacock Village. My dogs and I were warmly welcomed by staff and the high ceilings provided a lovely atmosphere on the inside in contrast to the rather plain exterior. The outside gave the impression that the cafe was shot but the door was actually kept closed to keep the warmth in and the extra check to see and push off the door was well worth the extra effort indeed. I chose a hot chocolate as well as the leek and potato soup. The chocolate was generous in size and tasty. The soup was also delicious and served with an extremely chunky slice of bread - and we all know that leek ace potato can be a bit of a gamble, but well worth the toss of the coin in this case.

A nice little cafe with a good selection of cakes and light lunches. I had a jacket potatoe with tuna and mayonnaise for lunch today and a cappuccino and both was very nice. The cafe has seating inside and outside and is just opposite the main entrance to Lacock Abbey.

Stopped by here for a coffee as I completed my walk around Lacock, we had a piece of traditional Victoria sandwich it was very good. Young staff but reasonably good and enjoyable unfortunately we pitched up late

This was popular today, due to the warm weather and their iced coffee. This café is an oddity, in that it's in a Pub carpark. There is a neighbouring hatch serving icecream, but it's entirely unclear whether it's the same business or not, especially as the café also sells the same brand of icecream. There appears to be a wall between them internally though, so it's an odd setup.

The café also sells scones, brownies, cakes and so on. It's centred around quick bites rather than full meals, although I saw no evidence that it didn't do meals as well.

There's both indoor and outdoor seating, although most of it is outdoors. I have the impression this place operates primarily in the warmer weather, when more tourists are about.

Polite and fast service, and although there was a wait of about 5mins for my drink, they were visibly busy preparing drinks via an...

As you'd expect from a National Trust tearoom, it was all extremely nice - the Victoria sponge, the chocolate brownie and the Bakewell slice were all delicious. As we had the dog with us, we sat outside and here was the only downside - to be expected in the height of summer, but annoying nevertheless, was the plague of wasps. We had half a dozen dive bombing us which freaked the kids considerably so they decamped inside and left me in solitary splendour! Wasps are unavoidable, but some handily placed wasp traps would have helped and allowed us to enjoy our break at a more leisurely pace. Then again, the challenges of nature in an historical setting - though I bet Judy Dench didn't have a problem when she filmed...
