AVOID â Especially if you have children!
We attended our childâs football presentation day at this venue, and the experience was incredibly upsetting.
A staff member repeatedly removed our drinks, even though they were only half-finished and left on a table next to our bags. This felt unnecessary and intrusive.
After the presentation ended, we stayed behind like many other families. A few children, including mine, were playing and jumping off a small step in front of the stageânowhere near any tables or customers. Suddenly, the same woman shouted at them: âI SAID NO! DONâT DO THAT! THIS ISNâT A PLAYGROUND.â Her tone was aggressive and completely inappropriate when addressing young kids.
I took my child outside, and another little girl who remained inside later told me that she smiled at the staff member and was met with âWHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING AT?â Againâcompletely unacceptable.
A little while later, my child briefly went back inside to say goodbye to a friend and jumped off the step again. The staff member approached me and asked, âIs that your kid? I need you to take him home.â
I asked why, and she replied, âBecause I already told them not to jump and he keeps doing it.â I calmly explained that he is only 7 years old, to which she snapped, âSO? YOUR 7-YEAR-OLD DOESNâT LISTEN TO NO?â
Franklyâno. Like many children his age, he doesnât always listen. For all she knew, my son could be autistic or have other challengesâor simply be a typical 7-year-old. Her attitude was rude, judgmental, and lacked basic understanding or patience.
If your venue doesnât welcome children, donât host childrenâs events. And if you do, your staff should be trained to treat families and kids with kindness and respect.
Speaking to children this way is unacceptable and you have no right to do so . You...

There is a regular crowd, the familiar people, but also the infrequent visitor. I come here fairly regularly Some nights it is heaving. Others, it is merely moderately busy, but it certainly demonstrates that there are still people in my home town who want to go to a pub to drink, and eat crisps and peanuts, rather than some poncy, overpriced pub grub. Friendly locals, jukebox, football on the TV, darts, the obligatory gambler machine, even crib (!) It sells different lagers as well. There are no overt wrong 'uns amongst the regulars, so it feels safe. A proper, old-school boozer, where folks go to drink alcohol...
Read moreWent in earlier for an afternoon drink on my own. I was accosted 4 times by a drunk idiot, the last time he came over to me I told him I was just trying to have a quiet drink etc, the lady serving behind the bar at the time saw the whole thing and was smiling and practically laughing about it, she didn't attempt to ask him to leave me alone. Is a woman not allowed to go and sit and have a drink without being harrased, I would have appreciated the staff at least ask him to leave me alone. I didn't even finish my drink.
Would never step foot in...
