Little Dessert Shop Daventry — Restaurant in England

Unfortunately, I've had a bad experience with this shop, although I really enjoyed the food before and thought it was quite nice.

On November 10th, I ordered a hot chocolate through the website for pick up, small order. I received a phone call to tell me they didn't have marshmallows for the type I ordered - no problem. I asked them to swap it to another type that they had in stock. They said I could come in to pick up.

I went in to collect and was told that they didn't have any hot chocolate. They offered me other cold drinks and other things but were not able to fulfil my online order. They were very insistent and pushed for other items.

As they couldn't fulfil my order, I had to leave - but there was no way to query an order through the website/account (where I paid) to say that I hadn't actually received it (and get a refund). I sent in a message through the website contact form: there has still been no response to this three weeks later.

I tried contacting them through other social media and received no response. November 21st, I found an email address for the store (thought it worth a try, even though my order was online not directly with the shop) and they responded saying they would process a refund within 5 working days and that someone would be in touch.

It's now December 1st and no one has been in touch and my money has not been refunded. I've sent another message by email but I'm not expecting anything, just want to wrap this up and move on.

Would not recommend them. Would recommend Culaccino and Kuni's instead, both always very friendly and...

Went to the little desert shop with a friend for the first time... Walked in and they had 80's Bon Jovi playing of which i love but don't really want to listen to that while i'm out at a restaurant and is playing rock music really the atmosphere for such a kind of place?! 🤔🤷‍♂️ We were shown the table by the back wall but would've been nice to have sat at the front of the shop personally. On sitting down i notice the smashed window, hardly a nice look is it! A mop bucket in full view of customers, a table behind us cluttered in random objects and hearts on the ice cream stand that look like they were cut out of coloured paper 😆 Sat chatting to my friend and i noticed how cold it was as if they had no heating on at all. As for the food... We were handed two big menus with the vast array of choice on offer, i decided to go with something more plain so opted for the banana and strawberry crepe. It arrived after awhile and on initial bite i thought the crepe tasted crispy and chewy like it had been in a microwave, definetly not value for money at £7.95!! Overall the dish was OK but it didn't wow me at all, just tasted like something i could make at home. As for the strawberry gelato, well it just didn't go with it and some nice vanilla ice cream would have been much better in my opinion. Verdict... Would i go again? Probably not! No real atmosphere because barely anybody was in there. A pretty decent shop well suited for Daventry. The staff were really friendly and everything on the extensive menu looks really appealing. I don’t think you’ll be too short for choice here.

The front of house staff, Anisa, was very friendly and attentive, introducing herself to me and explaining how long the store has been open and the other locations they have.

Decor is modern and the furniture is comfortable. The overall atmosphere is pretty relaxing with instrumental music playing in the background.

There aren’t many power outlets available. I only spotted 1 situated in-between two tables which may make it difficult if you plan on bringing a laptop but to be honest it’s a dessert shop and the desserts are clearly where their focus has been. I’m just one of those people who likes finding different places to work from.

Everything I’ve seen other people ordering looked really good and the open kitchen/prep area in the back makes it so you can see every dessert being prepared when you order.

I got a chocolate brownie sundae which I very much enjoyed. If you eat in, the staff will bring your order straight to the table in good time.
