Consistently excellent food, service, and overall experience at Alaturka Doner Daventry!
I’ve been ordering from (and visiting) Alaturka Doner in Daventry for quite some time now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best places in the area for authentic Turkish food. Every single order has been freshly prepared, full of flavour, and always arrives hot you can really tell they take pride in the quality of what they serve.
The meat is always cooked to perfection tender, juicy, and never greasy and the portions are just right. Their wraps, rice boxes, and mixed platters are all brilliant, packed with crisp salads and flavourful sauces that bring everything together beautifully. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, and even the packaging and presentation are done with care.
The staff at the Daventry branch are always welcoming and polite, whether you’re ordering in person or online. They go out of their way to make sure you’re happy with your order, and that level of customer service really makes a difference. The restaurant itself is clean, modern, and well looked after it’s clear they maintain high standards across the board.
It’s great to have a local spot like this that consistently delivers both amazing food and great service. Alaturka Doner Daventry has become my go-to for Turkish food it’s far better than most places around and genuinely feels like a level above your average takeaway.
Highly recommended to anyone in Daventry or nearby looking for fresh, authentic, and delicious Turkish cuisine. Keep up the fantastic work you’ve definitely earned a loyal...
Read moreThis place deserves 1 star, the reason for this is that the food took a really long time to be made. The European woman who works at the front gave me half my order and didn’t realise that the other half was missing. The portion sizes are really small for the amount you pay, the prices does not match the portion sizes, £10 for a doner meat, chips and a drink?!!The doner meat meal is a let down, not even worth it! tasteless, rubbery and bland the sauces that comes with it(separate pots) doesn’t do it any justice, the chips are basic nothing special. The only thing I can say that was actually nice was the salad. The Knafeh was a let down, not like your typical Turkish knafeh, it was very dry for some reason and I’ve had knafeh loads of times from other Turkish restaurants . Overall, this doesn’t taste like Turkish food, the owner really needs to train his workers and maybe give better portions...
Read moreDisappointing Experience – Not Worth the £45
We ordered the family platter for £45, along with £8 worth of sides, and were genuinely shocked by what we received.
The kofta kebabs tasted like they came straight from the freezer—completely lacking freshness. The chicken wings were bland and had no flavor whatsoever. As for the “family platter,” it came with just 200g of mixed chicken and lamb shish—barely enough for one person, let alone a family.
We were given only two small pieces of pita breadFor a meal marketed as a family-sized option, this felt incredibly stingy.
Yes, we read the menu and knew what we were ordering—but the quantity and quality simply didn’t match the price. For £53 total, this felt like a complete rip-off.
Hugely disappointing. We won’t be returning, and we definitely won’t be recommending this...
