Lyn's Cafe — Restaurant in England

Very good very nice food and the staff so very helpful and kind and the food is Love nothing wrong with it and everything very Lovely food and cakes my mum is not getting any better and so fragile too my still the same in hospital my mum getting bit better now my mum moved up to Leicester general hospital on today at tea time too evington center ward beechwood visiting times from 2pm too 8pmfor rehabilitation on my mums bones and strength and physio from garry whiting I am better off with lyns cafe...I shall start coming down too Lynn's cafe for company have a coffee and cake I feel lonely and now both parents gone now Edward whiting passed away on 17 September 2011 at 4.30 pm and and Janet Whiting passed away on 3 March 2024 at 7 .15 pm I shall start having Sunday roast dinners for myself only and I shall start coming down in the early afternoon for company too have a drink of coffee and odd Sundays for a Sunday roast dinner for my self and this from my mum's nephew Paul ward wants me too have like that sometimes I shall start going down too Lyn's cafe on Sunday lunch time like the others now for roast dinners for company for that reason only I still feel lonely and tearful still I have been in Lynn's cafe since been open as a cafe over 35 years ago started with Lynn and Maria and Jan with all proper home made cakes only and all the years I been going down too Lynn'scafe gone off the scene over the years and see new people in there and I know two of them used talking about cars and other stuff in the front gardens with washing machine and other stuff and I been with my mum and dad and Lyn Palmer for roast dinners then dad Edward whiting passed away and stan and Pam and that other one who done the paintings in Lynn's died on the Imperial avenue park and now i have seen so many people pass away and I passed my mum passed away and my mum passed away same way but my mum did have diabetes or heart trouble or blood trouble and now I go on my own now for Christmas dinners with out my mum and dad now and dad used too go too the manor for Christmas dinners and rothley golf Christmas dinners and thursford place for Christmas dinners and sherry that's how now left me on my own properly and I been too lyns cafe since it open over 34 years and I have seen people come and go over the the with Jan and lyn and Maria who done the cakes and seen the prices rises over the years Jeff other staff and Jan's daughter jenna grow up and seen people pass away over the years and seen all regulars...

Vegetarian breakfast tomatoes beans toast egg where are the hash browns and mushrooms? Because I'm a vegetarian I have to pay an extra charge for the food. But a full English gets everything. You could of done a full English for me minus the sausage and bacon and black pudding. I could of made a better fly up at home! My partner doesn't like mushrooms and when brought out mushrooms were on his plate he said no no no mushrooms the young lady rudely walked away! The elder lady was very lovely and welcoming! I wanted a cheese toastie with my breakfast instead of having toast and that came out before my breakfast. Good job I ordered the toastie because I wouldn't of ate otherwise... Will not bother with this place again nor recommend. I'm a chef of 10 years...

Service is good overall, although their hygiene standards are poor, and they can get a little confused with any thing complex as I've been there since I was a child and I've noticed if you don't mind a bit of grim / stuck on food on your plates, cups, knifes and forks then your fine or the odd hair in your meal, I don't mind personally but when I have taken friends there they have been discussed and haven't eaten their meal. Also when you tell the staff at Lyn's they are not willing to offer a replacement, even though your a dissatisfied customer. I guess that the café has its regulars and they are happy...
