It is a convenient place to stop for a break and a drink in fine weather. It doesn't offer much protection from the elements, but there are several pubs and eateries in close walking distance. There's a small but quite well equipped children's playground that appears to be well populated in the summer time, when there are often groups (usually friendly ones) of locals and students playing sports, listening to music, having a party, or a combination thereof. Read moreI love Bede park, it's a really nice place in the summer and I take my guinea pig in a little crate to eat the grass there when I have the time. Really bouncy place, popular with students and families. One of the play areas is cordoned off at the moment, but the one for small children is still going strong. Really mixed bag of people (both for better and worse), and not a great place to walk through alone at night (though where is in the city?), so be careful.
