The MAA restaurant is a real treat for the curry loving community !!!! . This restaurant has a varied menu of curry dishes and also some Asian fusion dishes which have been created especially by their own chef to a very high standard to make your dining experience a special one . I noticed that the sauces and stock's in the dishes were not of a generic add on basic one pot for all dishes , but all of a different content and spice and ingredient base , this may well not be of interest to some but it has to be said that the style of cuisine really is at the edge of finer style dining at a modest cost that most can afford without breaking the bank . The meal's are served piping hot on ultra clean table ware and the table cloth was changed on every table after each table's guest's left not just turned over !! . The staff were polite and friendly and helpful , should you require any help with your order , the chef was polite enough to ask if we enjoyed our meal even though he was so busy and we could see he was so proud we enjoyed it , as it really was a special treat !!! We are not regular customer's but the manager treated us like long lost friends and made our visit a very special one . We had a half tandori chicken on the bone and a special mix balti of lamb chicken and king prawns plus roti bread and egg rice plus poppadoms and full pickle tray all for around the £32 mark . The portions are sensible and have been worked out to make sure your dining experience is just right . The restaurant has a good range of soft drinks but doesn't have a drinks license which may be a bonus for some as ( they allow you to bring your own at no corkage fee !! So you can bring along a fine wine of your choice without the hefty price tag of other restaurants ) and enjoy your choice of drink to suit your palate , maybe even a craft beer or lager . The atmosphere is cozy and intimate with some romantic mood lighting features plus some custom made glass picture panels featuring the Taj Mahal and an Indian beauty lady picture which really adds to the romantic vibe of the restaurant , at the moment covid screens are available to separate the tables and are transparent and unobtrusive to your view of the restaurant , things may well change but it does make sense to most . The restaurant also has a full takeaway menu for those who like to dine at home and dishes are at reasonable prices . I am sure that most people who visit here for a meal return time and time again , I know if we are in the area again we surely will !! I hope they...
Read moreEnjoyed my first visit for a takeaway. I would have given 5, but some accessibility issues with the layout.
Accessibility mixed - level manual entrance, narrow inside between tables. Takeaway order point is at the back (order by phone and collect at the front of the restaurant if in a chair?). Disabled toilet at the rear with normal width doors.
Opening Times - Monday to Thursday and Saturday 5:30 - 11:00 pm. Friday - Saturday 5:30 - 11:30 pm. Planned to be open 7 days a week, including Christmas Day.
Car Parking - the restaurant is near a junction, but there is free on road parking relatively nearby.
Children - made welcome.
Delivery - no.
Drink - non alcoholic, but customers can bring their own and there is no 'corkage' charge. Food - enjoyed it, fresh vegetables (I'm a veggie).
Price - ££
Speed - I'd ordered a Peshwari Naan and the Tandoor took 40 minutes to heat up
Staff - friendly and helpful.
Toilets (including disabled) - at the back through normal...
Read moreHad a lovely curry in here tonight. The staff were working under pressure to keep up the pace in the face of some real tools on the customer front. Incredible amount of patience on their part when faced with dull questions like, "How big are the king prawns?" "What vegetables are with the king prawns?" "Can I get chicken fried rice?" "You're very busy... Can you serve us quickly?"
Despite all of this they served us efficiently and the food was really very good and reasonably priced too.
Thank you Maa team. The 3 stars on atmos isn't down to you, it's down to the droning gobshites that seem to think that asking you stupid questions really loudly makes them discerning and important, when all it really does is mark them out as raging buttplugs and dampen the mood for the nice people. Like me. And some of the...
