After seeing the excellent reviews we decided to pay Mille Sepori a visit. I rang on route and reserved a table for 4 at 5:45pm. We were warmly greeted on arrival and it's quite a cosy setting.
We had starters and a main 2 adults and 2 children. The starters were excellent as were the mains but a couple of points to the reason behind 4 stars instead of 5.
On the menu it states cheaper prices between 5-6pm on Tuesday's. It was quite busy and although we were ready to order at 5:55pm it wasn't taken until aroun 6:10pm therefore paid higher rates on the meals outside of this special offer.
The 10% service charge for serving 4 people I thought was a little excessive. Apart from taking the orders and serving the food to the table the staff weren't that attentive in terms of asking do we want more drinks etc. this was probably because it was quite busy.
There was no draught beer on offer, having a nice Italian lager on draught was expected but instead small 300ml bottles were available for quite a hefty price.
Finally on the menu it says they don't serve any of the steak well done which was great for me. However, upon receiving the trio of meats including sirloin steak, it was well done having ordered it medium rare.
All in all the above are just points for me that makes an establishment a 5 star over a 3 or 4 star. If these points are corrected in the future I'd happily visit again.
The most important point is my wife loved her food with it being her birthday and the kids did too.
The bill was just over £130 for 4 of us, one round of drinks and...
Read moreWe came here for my 30th birthday meal on Thursday 6th October 2022, and it was a magnificent experience from start to finish. First of all, the front of house staff were so amiable and when we notified them of my partner's coeliac disease, they rose to the occasion straight away and communicated every aspect of the order clearly to the chefs. Hollywood tratment! 😎👌🏼 Their wine list was expansive with options from Argentina to Australia, and we decided on the Shiraz from Australia. For starters, I had the mussels in garlic sauce and my partner had the garlic prawns. Both dishes obviously had high garlic content, but were balanced out perfectly with optimum seasoning of salt and pepper. Off to a great start, I ordered the beef and mushroom stroganoff signature dish, and it was sublime. The beef MELTED in the mouth! 😘 perfect for warming you up on an October night. My partner ordered the gluten free bacon and mushroom pasta, and the chef pulled off the impossible: he cooked the GF pasta to absolute perfection! 🤯 not gummy, not stuck together, just perfect GF pasta. For desert, I had the lemon cheesecake, and my partner couldn't resist the creme brulee. The cheesecake was a perfect pallet cleanser, and it was actually lighter than I was expecting, so I managed it all. The creme brulee was wonderful too, and the caramelised sugar was also a bit more delicate than what we've come to expect, which is great. No chipped teeth here! We were utterly STUFFED by the end. Hornsea and Skipsea, ditch the fish and chips and get behind this gem of a...
Read more25th August Booked for my wife and myself for 5,30. Arriving promptly to be told we hadn’t booked and had to show the waitress the confirmation text on our mobile telephone. We were eventually led upstairs and seated in a room with a family of at least 12 with some young children. The family and staff did absolutely nothing to stop the children constantly throwing their cutlery onto the wooden floor and laughing really loudly! The waitress came to take our order and we told her we were leaving. By the time we got down stairs the owner and head waitress were waiting for us and pleaded with us to take a table for two in the corridor. We ordered our food and a bottle of house wine. The whitebait was completely over cooked in what tasted like very old oil. The bruschetta consisted of two tiny round toasts and had an unmentioned balsamic dressing which my wife detests. My trio of fish were dry from overcooking. We declined the dessert. Having half a bottle of wine to drink and without asking for it, we were presented with a bill for £75 including a 10% tip. My daughter had asked us to try the restaurant as she was looking for somewhere to host her upcoming special birthday. Needless to say it will not be held at this overpriced underwhelming venue. I was forced to to put a star on this review as it would not post my...
