Malcolm Barnecutt Callywith — Restaurant in England

Only popped in hoping to get a good pastie. Experience of buying pasties from other outlets so far not good. So I was really impressed with my choice of steak pastie, (there's a lot of choice of fillings)the pastry was light and flakey and the filling was very tasty with a slight peppery edge superb. I will return. Well done best pastie yet! Still hot after popping into nearby stores. I am editing my review after a visit today. Only one year on from my excellent experience at this food outlet and I have to say I was more than disappointed. First I was told my choice of filling was not available but then told they would be ready in 30 minutes. I paid, however only two of my preferred choice had been put in the oven so I paid for 3 which included a different filling and returned in 30. I chose 3 cakes and paid. Returning home I think that the company must have run out of steak as I could seriously only find about 5 tiny, tiny pieces of steak if you could call them that. The rest was masses and masses and masses of onion. So that'll be probably my last visit to Barnecutts as I had told family how brilliant the pasties were and they definitely weren't! I have to add and to add insult to injury and I know it's my fault for not checking my receipt but I was charged for a sausage roll which I did not order and certainly didn't receive. Was happy to spot this place as I was staying in the PremierInn over the road from this place what currently is not serving breakfast due to COVID So this place is more of a kiosk in a car park what’s different but I like it. Friendly staff I believe I was served by Jen as it says on the receipt, great customer service. I would give the quality of the food I brought a solid 9/10 and it’s been marked down 1 as I’m fussy and the bacon was not as crispy as I like. The shortbread and gingerbread were extremely nice 👌 I should have brought a family of gingerbread people. Nice to see other bakery’s apart from Gregg’s what I went off ages ago due to quality not being that good compared to these smaller companies. Highly rated this place

i have been visiting malcolm barnecutts bakery callywith for a few yrs now on and off when out and about with my dog i dont often leave reviews but i feel i must in this case the service i always get from the staff is exceptional and is 100% there is one lady called jayne and another lady with brown hair not sure of her name but she has dogs all staff 100% at this location

jayne makes the most amazing cup of coffee in cornwall perfection in a cup is the only way i can describe it amazing
