ASDA Cafe — Restaurant in England

Travelled to Bodmin on holiday, called in ASDA to get some groceries and a snack. Menu said due to staff shortages hot food was only being served until 1:30. It was 1:10pm so we made our selection and headed to the counter. We asked for what we’d chosen to be met with a surly response of “I’m here on my own so I can only do pizzas and sausage egg chips and beans”. We pointed out what the notice said and Miss stroppy barked “Well I can’t be expected to do everything can I, I’m here on my own”. We again reiterated what the handwritten notice said and was told “Well perhaps you would like to come and work here!” Never have I ever experienced such vile service. We were told her manager thinks it’s OK that she is here on her own, I told her that she needs to take it up with her manager and not customers. I can see why this place has such low scores. It doesn’t deserve to have customers and Miss stroppy seriously needs to rethink a customer facing career. Do yourselves a favour and take your custom anywhere...

Been to the Bodmin Asda cafe few times recently and wasn't that impressed. Availability of toasted sandwiches and baguettes awful. Both time only few options left. Last time asked for toasted teacakes and again none left. Hot food options pretty dire also. Then to top it all you have to get your own drinks from the machines yourself and still pay almost £5.00 for a Hot Chocolate and Coffee. Both actually tasted hot , weak and tasteless. Also the mugs are years old and really look it too. Shame I remember using this cafe years ago when everything was cooked fresh , good menu , friendly staff and it used to be buzzing. There is no information about when they serve different meals, when we eventually got the overpriced meals items were missing and not cooked properly; either too done or not done enough. Some of the food we were given was inedible and they explained that the small portion of food makes the right price because of the "free" toast and hot drink. The person who served us was incredibly rude and unprofessional. They had also assumed my brother's age saying he wasn't young enough to be served a kids meal and asked for ID even though he is 15.
