Booked for my daughter’s 30th birthday. Table of 4 with severe allergies for one of our party. Allergies and birthday was mentioned at reception however allergen menu was not given. Rectified after we had been seated. The waitress asked if there was any celebration and i stated that it was a 30th birthday which was on the booking form. She apologised and told us that the manager had not told her. Our Waitress was very attentive and thorough with the allergies. No complaint there. Didn’t have the starter that was ordered from the allergen menu so another was chosen. Starters came out for the table apart from my daughters-allergies-We had to ask for it and then wait for it to obviously be cooked. The Camembert was not cooked properly so i went to speak to the manager who was very defensive when informed of the issues. He went to check and that was the last time he interacted with us apart from asking if we wanted another one cooked. Camembert was removed from the table and the bill. Had to ask for cutlery when the lettuce wedges came out. Had to ask for more drinks as no one had come over to us even though all our glasses were empty. Our food was nice but not as hot as the last time we went. We did not want dessert so asked for the bill. The waitress came out with a birthday sorbet and fresh fruit for my daughter and the celebration plate for us. Although this was very kind she had no candle or had happy birthday sung to her as i had expected. Two other tables had received this birthday tradition whilst we had been eating. Why was her special birthday not celebrated? On leaving the waitress could see I was not happy and asked why. I told her she asked if I wanted to speak to the manager and i said no. This was due to one of our party having ASD and was becoming overwhelmed with the whole situation. I am so disappointed as the last time we ate here it was perfect which is why we travelled over an hour to get there for our daughters special birthday which they did not make special ,rather than go to a...

This outing was due to it being my birthday, and as such there were six people at the table including me. When we sat down we were given some menus and allowed some time to deliberate over our choices I personally chose a orange and passion fruit J2o as I dislike carbonated drinks. As it was my birthday we had some cake at home so we only ordered a starter and a main, after we ordered the starters arrived quite promptly, for my starter I had the salt and pepper calamari it was well cooked not rubbery it had a great flavour that was nice on its own and it came with what I believe to be a chili mayonnaise that complement it nicely. I had decided to have a main and a side as I was hungry, the main was a 30 day 12oz prime rib eye with a stilton and white port sauce, the steak came with a salad wedge with which I had a burnt chilli and crispy onion sauce and some seasoned fries, and for my side I had halloumi fries. I had my steak medium rare which was perfectly cooked and paired well with the stilton sauce it also came with an onion cake that had a perfectly crispy outside and a sweet inside that was very nice with the steak. The salad wedge was reasonably sized and the addition of the crispy onion and chilli sauce made it very tasty. The seasoned fries were crispy and had a reasonable amount of salt on them that wasn't overpowering and tasted good with the stilton sauce, the halloumi fries were slightly smaller than some that I've seen but they worked well with the chilli sauce. The only complaint I could think of is that after the starters were complete and the plates had been taken away my cutlery wasn't replaced with everyone else's however I can forgive this as I was sat in the corner away from the edge...

I was very impressed by Chris who served us. I found Chris to be an extremely positive and happy and was willing to have a joke and laugh which I thought increased our experience. Chris was extreme detailed and thorough with everything and ensure that everything was done exactly how we wanted it, with a very particular order and a lot of things added and taken off, Chris made sure that it was perfect and exactly how I wanted it. Serving times were extremely quick with our starters being served within 10 minutes and furthermore when I also asked for an additional pot of ketchup, Chris stopped what he was doing to go and get it straight away and he even came upstairs to just check how we were doing before going back down. Furthermore after being told it was my birthday the day previously, Chris decided to bring my desert out with a lit candle and some extra peices and didn’t make a big scene of it which really enhanced my experience. I personally belive that Chris went above and beyond what he should’ve and when I come again, I would hope that he would be serving us.

In terms of the food, I really liked how the cheese on the Cheesy Garlic Bread was slightly melted and had a great cheese pull and couldn’t have been cooked any better furthermore the steak and ribs was extremely tender and melted in my mouth and was extraordinary with a very flavourful vinilla and rasbery icecream & rich chocolate...

My wife and I finally got round to using a gift voucher that I had been for my 60th birthday (and I will be 63 this April!!). Used the voucher against a January promotion, which allowed us to purchase off of the promotional menu either two courses for £19.95 or three courses for £22.95(seemed rude not to pump for the three courses 🤣) for starters my wife had garlic mushrooms with gluten free bread, whereas I had boneless chicken goujons deep-fried with a barbecue sauce, my wife followed that up with salmon on a bed of crushed potatoes with seasonal vegetables, and I had a 7 oz rump steak medium rare, with an onion loaf, grilled tomato, seasoned fries, along with a side comprising of an iceberg lettuce wedge smothered in a blue cheese dressing(YUMMY 😋😋), my wife being gluten free opted for 3 scoops of ice cream for dessert, and I went for the caramel biscuit torte all washed down with two glasses of lemonade and lime. Must say our waiter Tom was most attentive. I also have to say that Miller and Carter is not normally a place that my wife and I would frequent. But have to say (in all honesty) we will most definitely be returning!!! such a lovely meal/ experience 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.Thank you again ☺️

We have a high expectation coming here since it is scored 4.7 in google reviews. First we were asked to dress in smart-casual attire when we booked in and where are not too prepared for it. But they are not too strict with it anyway. The service here was excellent! The staff were nice and ready to help when you ask. They got plenty of choices for drinks. We started off with the garlic bread. It was really good! It tastes like freshly made. I ordered the surf and turf and my partner was sirloin(30 day aged). We followed based on their recommended cooking with the steaks. Lettuce was served first and i like it so much! Vinaigrette really tastes good on leafy salads. We didn't really wait longer for our steak to be served. My fillet steak was so soft i really liked it! But the lobster tails is too salty for me so i paired it with tomatoes when eating to balance the flavour. I feel bad for my partner, his sirloin had so much fat on it. Honestly it has more fat than the meat ✌️. Overall experience was good but personally would not like to be back again. Overrated and not worth it for the price. But still lovely place to dine with friends and family.
