Gen Wah — Restaurant in Great Britain

Went here for the first time in a few years because Ko Sing was shut , Ko sing are the best in the area and never greasy , always full of taste etc…

Well we should it just waited for them to open.. no instead we decided to order our dinner..

We hardly touched the food as you can see in the picture

We ordered 3 chow mein, egg fried rice, crispy duck, chicken balls and chicken curry.. chicken chow mein wasn’t cooked the way it should be.. it was noodles with plain chicken on top which had no flavour at all and was full of grease.. the chicken curry was tasteless and the chicken was pink and watery so we didn’t even risk eating that.. the chicken balls were dry and tasted reheated, rice was dry and tasteless , the only thing that looked half decent was the mushroom foo yung but that’s foolproof…

To top it off while you wait for your food the owners kids are allowed to roam around which is unhygienic.. the daughter was stood giving me dirty looks like I’m not allowed to look in the open kitchen whilst my foods being cooked.. the doors and fittings are dirty in the shop and covered in grime.. I’m sorry but if you run a food establishment you should want to give the best first impressions to your customers..

Avoid this place.. go to Ko Sing in Northbourne if you want decent food that has flavour without the risk of getting...

Trevor Staddon / Angela Staddon We have been using Gen Wah since it opend and the food is of the highest quality and the taste of thr food is exciting and delicious if im honest out of probably 600 meals we have only had 1 bad lambe and mushrooms it was pretty poor but thats 1 im several hundred and the owner was very apologetic and gave me a compplete replacement meal another night when he was aware of my complaint. Ive been to around 30 different shops in my time and not one come close to Gen Wah. Its no point trying to discover better there is nowhere from my experience and id highly recommend them to anyone. After phoning and being asked to hold the line for 1 minute, of course not a problem! But after hanging on for 23mins 54 seconds as I was clearly forgotten about! She finally answer saying what would you like darling?! After I explained that I wasn't happy being left for so long and the fact I could repeat orders including address and phone.
