Great steak ! Super nice service. Highly recommend. A Carnivore's Paradise: Miller & Carter's Ribeye Steak! Oh man, where do I even start with Miller & Carter? If you're a steak lover like me, this place is straight-up heaven on a plate—elegant vibes, sizzling atmosphere, and service that's as warm as the coals on their grill. Nestled in that cozy, upscale spot ,it's the kind of restaurant where you walk in stressed from the day and leave floating on a cloud of savory bliss. But let's cut to the chase: their ribeye steak. *Fantastic* doesn't even cover it—this beast is a masterpiece! Picture this: a perfectly marbled, 14oz cut of prime British beef, aged just right for that melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. They char it on the grill to lock in those smoky, caramelized edges while keeping the inside juicy and pink (medium-well, folks, trust me). The fat renders like butter, infusing every bite with rich, beefy umami that dances on your tongue. Paired with their signature triple-cooked chips (crispy outside, fluffy inside) and a peppercorn sauce that's creamy, spicy, and downright addictive? It's not just a meal; it's a full-on love affair. I devoured mine in under 20 minutes, moaning with each forkful, and my family had to remind me to breathe. Portions are generous, prices fair for the quality .Miller & Carter isn't messing around; they've nailed the art of steakhouse perfection. If you haven't been, drop everything and go. Your taste buds will thank you, and you'll be back next week like I am. 10/10, no notes—pure, unadulterated joy on a bone! Who's joining me for round two?

Absolutely lovely steak meal. Great service. Knocked off a star cos prices little high I guess. But hey, its steak, right. And you don't expect it to be cheap. Extensive steak menu. Had the rib eye and it was cooked spot on as I requested. Will definitely be going back. Great service. Thank you. Went back and was even better the second time! Rib Eye again, cooked perfectly. Side of ribs. Beers finished with an Irish Coffee. Update, December 2nd 2022. Daughter booked table for 6 at 5.30pm. Turned up and told them we had a 2 year old, was told, suppose you'll for on table 32, upstairs, if you have a high chair. They were told on booking it was 6 adults and a child. Then the manageress pops round... 'put them on table 32, but to let you know, there is another booking after you in 2 and a half hours!'. Err.. well. To be honest, that's not our problem, and we had also booked. Spent the evening on edge and sort of felt rushed as you can imagine. Food was ok but expensive. The rib eye was not their usual standard. Shame the non covid Christmas times have caused food to be not as good, and service not as good. Found this with other places. Just after covid, begging for customers and being super nice and helpful, to non covid, we're all busy now and don't care as much. Don't forget, us customers have good memories. Thank you.

First of all, we got to the car park which was an absolute shambles with people parking in the middle of two spaces, parking in the middle of the car park and everywhere else possible except the spaces due it resembles a building site and has no lighting to see the very faint markings for them. Get into the “restaurant” and it’s just a glamorised pub that had a weird smell that greeted you which was a mix of gone off seafood, cheese and bin bags. For starters I got the Pulled Pork Doughnut which was okay. However, my partner got Calamari which was completely flavourless and came with an awful dipping sauce. This could have been made better with a lemon wedge which is usual custom for this starter. My partner got an Espresso Martini which was like paint stripper and was undrinkable. I thought this would have been better since it’s a well respected restaurant. For mains, my partner and I got a 16oz Ribeye Steal each. One at medium rare and one at medium. They were cooked to a nice colour, however, the meat was the chewiest steak we have ever had. Having to leave a large portion due to the inedible state it was in. We were very let down due to this being the first time we have been to a Miller and Carter and after the £115 bill at the end, we can quite easily confirm we will never be stepping foot in one again.

Biggest let down ever ! Me and my wife booked this venue a month or so ago to celebrate my birthday. We have been to a few Miller and Carters round the country and this was our first visit here. I had the offers on my app and was ready to go. Alas, we arrived at 5.45 pm , 15 mins before my booking , no one was at the welcome desk. We waited 6-7 minutes before a waitress finally came over and took us to our table. The table was in some small backroom that was by a backdoor ,poorly decorated and felt like ,at best, a knackered old pub. Me and my wife looked at each other, discussed the fact that we were not feeling in anyway that this was going to be worth miller and carter prices nor did we feel the atmosphere was anywhere near as good as we have experienced in other m&c restaurants so after about a 5 minute wait and no sign of a waitress coming back we walked out. This was frustrating as we had paid for a cab to the venue and it was just so disappointing after great anticipation. Luckily in Rayleigh High Street there are some restaurants where they value custom and give great service and food, we went there instead. Miller and Carter, this was just poor, we never walk but we did and it was for the best. FOOTNOTE, ADDED 31.3.25 miller and carter responded giving me a name and number to call so they cld discuss my review. I called on Fri 28th March but got no answer so i left a voicemail with my contact details. They have not responded and hv now deleted their response. Luckily i have a screenshot of it which i will send with my complaint to miller and carter head office. Clearly their determination to restore my confidence in them doesnt extend as far as...

This restaurant has recently been nicely refurbished and now looks modern and fresh yet tasteful with lots of new seating and now more in line with the Miller and Carter decor. The outside gardens are pleasant and well kept and have seating for eating al-fresco in warmer months. The toilet facilities more than adequate and very clean.

My wife and I arrived without a booking on a Saturday afternoon and were quickly greeted and seated by our waitress Ellie. Unfortunately the table we were allocated were right outside the toilets, we requested different seats and were immediately relocated to our satisfaction. Ellie was friendly and attentive throughout - excellent service.

We both had three courses from the lunch menu and a glass of wine for her and a beer for me. All three courses were very good with the steaks being cooked to our liking and hot and tasty. Everything was served and cleared away promptly with no excessive waiting between courses.

Just a little overpriced but we both had a very good meal in a nice environment so no complaints.

There were only continental lagers available and it would have been nice to have a local ale as a choice.

Perhaps the management would think about moving the couples table away from the toilets as there really didn’t seem to be much alternative, maybe using the space for a serving area or something.

Would definitely come here again. Would I bring my...
