We were on a coach trip to Appleby. Then a train ride to Settle over the Ribblehead Viaduct which was lovely. Got to Settle with an hour to pass and found this wonderful pub. The owner was so friendly and the cask beers which I am particularly fond of were sourced locally and were in perfect condition. Wish we could have stayed longer but if we make it back this place will be where we go. If you are in Settle and like good cask beer at its best in a friendly atmosphere this place is a must. Read moreWe had a great night here, having completed a 10-mile walk from Gargrave. No problem wearing our boots. There was an excellent atmosphere, and we were chatting with regulars throughout.
It calls itself a bar, but it had several real ale beers that were perfect. Just one male and one female toilet, so there was an occasional queue for the loo. The lock on the male toilet wasn't working, so watch out for that!
Settle has a good set of pubs, but this was our favourite. Handy for the rail...
