Another little update. Had festive afternoon tea. I thought it was expensive for what we got to be honest. We've had lots of afternoon teas in various establishments & this was disappointing. The quiche was not quiche, it was a tart of some sort and the pastry was almost raw on the bottom. Along with the tart, you got a roll, a small sausage roll, a savoury scone, a third of a sandwich and a small dish of coleslaw. Cake was Victoria sponge and a fruit scone. Small amount of whipped cream. Much better value and a choice at places like The Running Fox. 30/08 *Had a lovely impromptu stop for lunch. Chicken gyros for me. Great value. My only niggle was that we'd bought 4 meals and 4 hot drinks and when one of our party asked for 1 glass of tap water he was refused saying they don't offer that. Offered us a bottle instead for £1.20. I'm not sure they should have refused us to be honest. It was a warm afternoon and he had eaten salted beef flatbread. Mean spirited and off-putting * Stopped for coffee and cake after walking our elderly Jack Russell. We sat outside as it was a pleasant afternoon. The cake portions are extremely large! We should have shared one but will know for the future. A very friendly young lady asked us if everything had been ok and it was. Will be back as we...
Read moreShocking discriminatory customer service! Went with my friend and 17 month old son for lunch after a lovely afternoon on the splash pad in the park but unfortunately didn’t get that far.
We were told we couldn’t bring the pushchair inside due to the building being narrow and it being a fire risk and how we’d have to leave it outside. Ok fair enough so we did and came back inside to find a table. We walked to the back to find most of the tables reserved but as we turned round we were then told that the manager had said they couldn’t sit anymore people inside due to being short staffed. What a load of tosh! There was barely anyone sitting inside either. They may as well have said they didn’t want our custom and I think it was due to my son, as though he’d make a mess/cause a disturbance. It’s not like he was still in wet clothing or screaming and it’s not like we were chavvy mums with loads of kids either. Absolutely shocking and left a really sour taste.
Don't have a business in child friendly park if you’re not child friendly - they deserve...
Read moreWent to take my disabled Mum and daughter out for lunch with desserts today, only to be told you can’t sit inside as we don’t have enough staff to serve inside (versus the plethora of outdoor tables but there’s not much logic here). It began to rain; and a lady with her daughter took the very table inside we had been going to sit down at with no refusal of service, so I questioned a member of staff. When I stated I was going to be ordering hot drinks, lunch and desserts, all of a sudden it seemed we could sit inside, but as this is the second occasion something like this has happened, we just went somewhere else where we were welcomed to spend the £50-60 we were planning on spending here.
Your staff leave a lot to be desired in their attitude and manner in the customer...
