Moonlight Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in England

Please avoid giving this restaurant any business at all unless you want to be accused or lying, hounded off your table without finishing your meal when we wanted to order a coffee and a dessert, stood over, shouted at and finally accused of not paying when we got up to put our coats on but had already paid our bill!! This catalogue of disasters started the minute we walked through the door, I clearly had my restaurant booking confirmation on my mobile to show the staff but we had not been written in their bookings book. Instead of aplosging and saying they were sorry they had overbooked, they said there was no problem and showed us to our table. We had not been given a time slot to be out by so when their other customers turned up they tried to throw us off of the table when we were trying to have a good meal out. This was embarrassing and very upsetting to say the least and not a relaxed environment for the other customers around us either. We were appalled by their treatment of us as customers and the only saving grace was a local lad that worked there on a Saturday evening apologising profusely about the entire evening as he had seen exactly the dispicable treatment that we had to endure all evening . I cannot fault the food, it was fantastic. What I can fault is that we were pretty much ushered out of our table and the restaurant in 50 minutes after we had sat down.

We booked a table for 3 at 7pm and arrived on time. After sitting down and being served our drinks and poppadoms we were asked to move tables to accommodate a large group. Unusual but not an issue. Our order was taken promptly and the food came out without issue. It was excellent.

However after we finished our mains at 7.50pm they asked if we wanted to order anything else, we declined as were all full. At this point they asked if we could leave as they were very busy. We all had ordered a second drink and they were mostly almost full, yet the server asking us to leave did not seem to take kindly to us saying that we would just finish our drinks. They brought the bill along with the card machine and we all felt like they wanted us out ASAP. If there is a need for a quick turn around of tables they do need to make this known at the time of the booking or when we arrive, we may have chose another restaurant if we had known. I have never been in and out for a curry in less than an hour before.

A real shame as other than this it was a really nice meal and great food. We will now try an alternative Indian...

The food is good quality. The service i find isn't the best. Online booking first of all says half hour 40 minutes wait. I order and the time for wait then goes up an hour. I turn up for my collection to be kept waiting another half hour. I order take out because I cannot be bothered to cook and I am hungry. I would not of ordered if the wait was more than 40mins the fact it went up after purchase was not good. To be kept waiting another half hour was beyond acceptable. There has to be a level of customer satisfaction. Your food maybe good but please don't lie to get the money in. I won't be using you anytime soon if ever again. Customers need to know truthfully when they will get there food. I wasn't the only one tonight. Such a shame ........ We ordered after 7pm . The online system takes my details,a call from you to say the time would take longer would be better than standing outside for over half an hour in the rain. Not long just a minute gets a bit to much after half an hour. Yes I understand the things are different you just need to work on the service don't take so many orders.
