I was glad to see an Italian restaurant open in Daventry but our experience tonight was mediocre to say the least.
Dance music playing all the time, just weird My glass of Montepulciano was nasty - the bottle must have been opened a while ago. It was replaced when I complained and the replacement was ok, just not a very nice variety Service was slow, given that it was midweek and the restaurant wasn't packed. We sat for a good 15 minutes between courses Antipasto platter wasn't as advertised (artichokes) just a plate of supermarket quality Italian meat and slivers of cheese Carbonara was basically a cream soup with fettucine hiding in it, way too much sauce to be enjoyable. Nobody seemed to want to come to our table so we ended up paying the bill with the leftover food and dishes still sitting in front of us.
This is a real disappointment - the restaurant is in a great location but it's so desperately average there seems little point in coming back.
Edit: I've just read a response to another review where the owner has put that they are not vaccinated. My god, we will definitely not be going back if they have that attitude to health and safety. Washing your hands after you pee is also a 'personal choice', who knows what they...
Read moreThe staff is very friendly, polite and welcoming especially the head waiter, Juliani, was very polite, professional and welcoming. They always serve with a smile and pay attention to details. Great with children too – offering colouring books and being very patient. During busy times there can be some delays, but overall the team is attentive. Some of the best pizzas in Daventry – thin, crispy base with fresh toppings and authentic Italian flavour. Portions are generous. The menu is varied, with tasty pasta, risotto, meat dishes and desserts like tiramisu and panna cotta. Usually quick and well-organised. Staff often offer a complimentary shot after meals, which makes the experience feel even more welcoming. Ambience:Modern and cosy décor with a warm, family-friendly feel. The atmosphere is lively. Music is nice, though a few customers noted it can be repetitive. Convenient location with free parking nearby. Overall….Murati’s is one of the top choices for Italian food in Daventry.Delicious, generous portions.Friendly staff.Lively and welcoming atmosphere.Perfect for family meals, friendly gatherings, or even a casual date night. This was my first visit, but surely not my last – I’ll be...
Read moreHighly recommended. The service was rapid, 7 of us booked for 8.30, got there early, couldnt get our table as it was rammed, no problem, went to spoons for a pint, come back at 8.30 and we were seated immediately
Drinks orders were taken straight away and food not long after, didn't have to do a lot to get the waiters attention, very speedy at taking orders, also the lady who had a problem with her voice (hope she feels better soon) was very concise to ensure nothing was wrong or missed
The food was absolutely amazing, the quality was very good and the flavours, temperature and presentation were all very high quality as well
Check back was actioned so they knew everything was OK and drinks orders came very fast
It was absolutely packed and the staff did really well to get everything out so fast and to be that good
Really great experience 👍🏼
Gunna recommend to family and friends and honestly I would take the bad reviews with a pinch of salt, they seem like the kind of people who want Michelin star service in a daventry italian. as everything was spot on and the staff seem like really good people, we...
