Tried Chiken Shish. Did not like their rice, its the same used when serving risotto... Would prefer if they would offer a choice of different rice like other restaurants. The Chicken shish was ok.
Staff- Asian girl with blonde hair serving my table, was just miserable 😧 as if she did not want to be there. At one point when asked for ice, she just brought x4 cubes in a cup, just like she was trying to save ice 😂. Normal restaurants will bring it in a bowl for all in table to help them selfs. The lad with glass was ok.
Takeaway - We did not much & did not want to throw food away, so asked for it to be boxed up for takeaway. The chap said if it was ok if he would bring the box for us to put the food. Im ok with that, some places will do it for you however.
Time to pay - they dnt take card 😵 has to be cash! There is however next door a cash point machine.
Premises- ambient is nice...cozy place to be with friends, but wouldn't recommend family as its a small place and if you happen to be unfortunate to go in a day a baby or children are there, u will not enjoy your meal in peace.
Having above in mind, I would recommend, however if you into Turkish cuisine then go to Konak Restaurant in London Road, the food is much tastier.
Hope this review helps anyone looking for the best Turkish cuisine in...
Read moreI saw good reviews about this place and was hopeful that they’d actually be good as it’s a local owned business unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
No water served unless paid for which is fine however the water is served in 500ml bottles only, with no option for a large bottle for people to share. We had to go to the local store ourselves in order to get the 1.5 litre water bottles so everyone eating had water as the bottles the place was serving was room temp. The waiter seems like he doesn’t know what is happening when taking our order and the place doesn’t serve Turkish tea which is another staple point of Turkish dining food. Going on to the food we had ordered a platter which was only one that was on their menu. We realised that this did not have any ribs or chops or bulgur rice. The bread we received was burnt to the point it was snapping in half. The order for our meze was taken only for the waiter to return and say 2 items out of the 4 we ordered were out of stock which could’ve been avoided when taking our order. When our food finally arrived we expected it to be hot however it felt like it was sitting there for a while. Also the place doesn’t take card as they are cash only which was inconvenient to say the least. Safe to say I won’t be returning...
Read moreI must say I had quite high expectations after reading the various 5 star reviews. But I am very disappointed at the food and the quantity.
Firstly the menu photos advertised for the family platter is cheaper than the actual price. The price for the family platter was £50, and the pictures show prices under £40. And for the price of £50 we got one plate of food and some chips with a side of salad which was quite disappointing. For that price and the quantity, you would think that the flavour of the food would be impeccable, but ‘surprisingly’ it was mediocre. Secondly they charge for water! It’s a Turkish restaurant… If you look at the plate of food that we got for £50, it would most likely just be enough for 2 small adults to eat well. As a family we were still hungry after having the meal.
The only good part were the service team, they were polite and had good knowledge of the menu.
If you do decide to go here I highly recommend you come with a small appetite and a...
